NFL Picks Week 15: 2 Teams That Will Get Thumped by the Opposition

Zach KruseDec 13, 2011

In Week 15, both the Minnesota Vikings and Kansas City Chiefs look ready to get pummeled in their respective matchups with the New Orleans Saints and Green Bay Packers.

Minnesota Vikings

A 2-11 team hosting a 10-3 squad is already a huge mismatch, but this has slaughter city written all over it. The Vikings secondary has been as bad during the last month or so as we've seen at this level in a long time. Injuries have obviously taken their toll, but the players the Vikings are throwing out there now on a regular basis have simply been overmatched. There's big issues at cornerback and safety.

To make matters worse, Drew Brees and the Saints passing offense are strolling into the Twin Cities on Sunday. Brees has only thrown for over 320 yards with two or more scores in each of the last four games. The Saints should run circles around the Vikings secondary on Sunday.

Kansas City Chiefs

Could the Chiefs have picked a worse time to fire Todd Haley and give Romeo Crennel, Kansas City's defensive coordinator, even more duties as the interim head coach? Isn't game-planning to stop Aaron Rodgers and the Packers offense more than enough?

The Chiefs were in trouble in this matchup regardless. Rodgers led the Packers on a search and destroy mission Sunday against the Raiders, going up 34-0 in the first half before cruising to a 46-16 win. Kansas City, on the other hand, fell behind 35-3 in the third quarter against the Jets before losing, 37-10. That lackluster performance was the final nail in Haley's coaching coffin in Kansas City.

Even with a breath of fresh air at head coach and playing at home, the Chiefs don't look like they have much of a chance to stick with the undefeated Packers on Sunday.
