Hade Vansen Feud with Undertaker Scrapped

Vignettes aired two Smackdowns ago hinted at a new dark gimmick for the wrestler Hade Vansen, but the observant among you will have noticed that they did not follow up that vignette this week.

According to ewrestlingnews.com and PWInsider.com this was no accident. It appears the angle has been dropped.

Vansen was supposed to be put in some scenario that would see him feud with The Undertaker. Following the promo on Smackdown, however, Vince McMahon decided to pull the idea because he didn’t want untested wrestlers working such big angles.

Vansen was supposed to be teaming with fellow WWE developmental talent Kevin Thorn and Black Pain with a dark cult-like image. But it appears all three have been told that this new angle has been scrapped. Thorn has been wrestling in FCW recently, while Black Pain signed a developmental contact earlier this year.

I'm not sure whether this is good or bad news. I am always happy to see new talent on any roster, and this “dark feud” could have been quite interesting. But at the same time you would imagine that if this feud started now, Hade Vansen could have been The Undertaker’s opponent at Wrestlemania 25.

If he turned out to be a bad wrestler or just not agree with the WWE fans then it would be a real shame.

The Undertaker can’t have many Wrestlemanias left in him, and to give him bad opposition leading to a poor match would really put a damper on a fantastic career.

Still, I am a bit disappointed that the WWE creative team is scrapping this idea completely because I think most fans have been calling for more stables for a while. This stable could have been similar to the Undertaker’s Ministry, which had great success, including wrestlers like Edge and Christian.

The Legacy led by Randy Orton on Raw is receiving quite good reviews and I think another stable would be welcome, even if it doesn’t involve The Undertaker.
