UFC 140 Results: Dan Henderson Calls out Jon Jones, Wants to Test His Chin
Dan Henderson did not wait long to call out Jon Jones after the champ successfully defended his title for a second time against Lyoto Machida at UFC 140.
"Hendo," a former Strikeforce and Pride champion, wants to wear some UFC gold before he calls it a career and he hasn't been shy to let people know it.
Shortly after the Jones win, Henderson tweeted:
"Congrats to @jonnybones -- great win. Hey @danawhite, I'd like to see if his chin is as good as he thinks & I'm ready to go."
For the time being, neither UFC President Dana White or Jones has responded to the tweet.
The winner of Rashad Evans vs. Phil Davis, the main event of UFC on Fox 2 on January 28, is generally being viewed as a title eliminator bout at light heavyweight.
However, White recently hinted that Henderson may get his shot sooner than later if Davis defeats Evans.
The Team Quest co-founder has been red hot recently, with back-to-back wins over fellow legends Fedor Emelianenko and Mauricio "Shogun" Rua.
Additionally, Henderson has been victorious in seven of his past eight bouts, including four knockouts.
Hendo's wrestling base and heavy hands certainly make for an interesting match up for "Bones," in what what be a classic example of old school vs. new school.
Timing could be another issue for this bout though, as Jones said he would like four or five months off before his next fight at the UFC 140 post-fight conference.
Fans would love to see the 41-year-old fight Jones while Hendo still has gas left in the tank, so could Evans see himself on the outside looking in one more time?
