WWE TLC 2011: Power Ranking All of the Wrestlers on the Card

The Doctor Chris MuellerDec 12, 2011

WWE's annual Tables Ladders and Chairs PPV is right around the corner, and there are a few matches which could have very interesting outcomes.

Dolph Ziggler is defending his title against Zack Ryder, who earned a shot after his buddy, Cena, gave up his own chance at the WWE title.

Cody Rhodes is defending his Intercontinental title against a pissed off Booker T, who is looking for retaliation after weeks of attacks by Rhodes.

Triple H and Kevin Nash will be squaring off in a ladder match, which will have a sledgehammer hanging high above the ring instead of the traditional title belt. This will hopefully put this feud to bed.

Mark Henry is once again defending his World title against Big Show in what might be their last encounter for quite some time. It is not often WWE will have the same two men in the World title match this many PPVs in a row.

Randy Orton and Wade Barrett will be facing off in a match which is not about titles, but prestige and bragging rights.

Finally, CM Punk will be defending his WWE title against The Miz and Alberto Del Rio in a TLC match which may see interference from Cena considering he is not on the card as of this morning.

Two men I am surprised to see not included in the card are Cena and Sheamus, but that could change between now and TLC

Here are the power rankings for every superstar on the TLC card.

13. Kevin Nash

1 of 13

This is just my opinion, but I do not think Nash should be fighting on this PPV unless he is putting over a young superstar who has something to gain from the win, which is why I am ranking him last.

He and Triple H have nothing to gain from this match; the least WWE could have done was make it a tag match and have each man choose a partner.

Nash is no spring chicken, and even though I still think he has something to offer the wrestling world, this should not be the way he contributes.

He should have faced a guy like Brodus Clay or Sheamus, who are not on the card and would benefit from some more exposure.

This match is sure to be ridiculous since neither man will be taking bumps from the top of the ladder or performing any spectacular high flying moves.

12. Triple H

2 of 13

I ranked Triple H second from the bottom because I feel that while his match with Nash is pointless, at least Triple H can still perform when needed.

This match will most likely not be the end of this feud, but hopefully, the rest plays out on Raw and takes up no more time on PPV from the young stars who are working week in and week out to make an impression.

Triple H is a legend, but he needs to give this match more than he is capable of to make it a good match.

11. Booker T

3 of 13

Booker T is someone who I think can probably put on a good match if needed, but since it has been so long since, we have seen him wrestle an extended singles match I need to put him close to the bottom.

Booker and Cody's rivalry is kind of interesting, as it could end at TLC or go for another month or two if played out right.

This match is for Cody's title, which makes me think it will be a win for him, but you never know, WWE may throw a curve ball and put the title on Booker for a week until Rhodes wins it back.

It would be a way to make the feud a bit more unpredictable.

10. Alberto Del Rio

4 of 13

If this video was any indication, then you would think Miz, Del Rio and Punk were great friends, but it is, in fact, the exact opposite.

Del Rio is bitter rivals with Punk, and Miz is not exactly his best friend. Del Rio has been on a steady downward slope after suffering the same kind of backlash that his quick push had on Sheamus.

I do not think there is a ton of chance for Del Rio to walk out of TLC as champion, but he will add to the match in a good way.

His technical ability, combined with what we already know he can do in a ladder match, will certainly allow him and the other men to put on a good show.

I think Del Rio will eventually be champion again, but this will not be his night.

9. Big Show

5 of 13

Despite the fact that I want Big Show to win the world title, I do not think he is going to get it done in this match which is why I am ranking him lower than Mark Henry.

Show is a great athlete, especially given his size, and he and Henry have put on matches that have exceeded my expectations every time.

Show is in line for a world title run after having returned nearly four years ago and still had only a handful of chances at a major title.

Unless WWE wants Henry to lose the title, I think Show will end up being the lose yet again in their feud.

8. Mark Henry

6 of 13

Mark Henry has beaten Big Show so many time as this point that you would think Show was due for a win, but I think Henry will pull out another victory at TLC.

Henry has been a dominating champion and a great heel on SmackDown in recent months, and WWE would be smart to keep that going through the beginning of next year.

His match with Daniel Bryan recently was much better than I ever could have expected, and I think Henry should keep the title to feud with Bryan.

The only reason Henry is this low on the list, even though I predict him to win, is that there are people who will put on a much better show at TLC.

7. Zack Ryder

7 of 13

Cena not only had to give up his own WWE title shot to give Ryder another chance to earn a US title shot, but he had to give Mark Henry an AA for Ryder to win.

If you ask me, this is not positioning Ryder as a strong champion. I think that TLC will be Ryder's chance to finally win singles gold, but he won't come out looking like a true champion.

Ziggler has been having matches with WWE's top talents lately, which is a good sign he will be jumping into the WWE title hunt, but first, he has to ditch the US title.

Enter Zack Ryder.

Ryder is an entertaining personality for sure, but if WWE keeps booking him to look weak, then his push will halt soon.

I am ranking Ryder lower than Ziggler despite thinking he will win, because I think Ziggler will have the better night in another way.

6. Randy Orton

8 of 13

One thing that Orton has proved over the last several months is not only does he not have to be the major champion on whatever brand he is on, but he can put others over as well.

Barrett has been getting the better of Orton for weeks, and at TLC, they will be able to settle their issues in a tables match.

Soem might think that Orton getting beaten week after week is setting him up to get the win, but I think this will play out for a bit longer and Barrett will get the win.

He has been looking very impressive lately, and TLC could be his chance to prove what WWE first thought when he was running Nexus. He is ready to be in the title picture.

5. Wade Barrett

9 of 13

As I mentioned in the previous slide, I think Barrett will be taking home the victory at TLC over Randy Orton.

Their feud has been one of the main focal points of SmackDown in recent months, and the fact that Barrett has been one upping Orton just shows the faith WWE puts in the English superstar.

Barrett is getting better and better as time goes on, and someday, he will definitely be a WWE champion, and getting a singles win over Orton is a step towards that goal.

4. Cody Rhodes

10 of 13

Rhodes and Booker are in a feud which will probably result in Cody getting the better of the SmackDown announcer.

These tow have been going back and forth for a few weeks, all of which came to a boiling point last week when both men attacked the other during SmackDown.

Rhodes came out before SmackDown even started and attacked Booker, taking his spot at the announce table.

I will admit that I laughed when Cody said "Who is going to talk about a fave five with 11 people in it?"

Cody is looking more and more like a main event heel, and this could be the next step in him becoming a world championship contender.

3. Miz

11 of 13

Truth getting suspended could have been a blessing in disguise for Miz, as he is now back in the main event picture on Raw.

He is the one I think could dethrone Punk as champion if anyone could come TLC. This match between these three guys is sure to be a great show.

Miz has some experience in ladder matches, and with both he and Del Rio hating Punk more than each other, we could see them team up on the champ.

Miz will be champion again, I have no doubt about that. The question just remains as to when? Check out the interview Miz did with Conan this past week to promote TLC.

2. Dolph Ziggler

12 of 13

While I predicted Ziggler to lose to Ryder at TLC, I still rank him as the second highest because of what I think might happen at TLC.

I have a feeling Ziggler will be involved in the WWE title picture somehow, and with how he has been facing all the top guys lately, it is only a matter of time before we see him in the WWE title matches.

Ziggler has progressed so much over the last few years that I wouldn't even recognize him in the spirit squad videos.

He will probably have the match of the night again, and maybe even perform double duty for the third show in a row if WWE adds him to the title match with Del Rio, Punk and Miz.

1. CM Punk

13 of 13

Just the fact that Cena is not in the main event gives Punk the perfect opportunity to shine as the new leader of Raw.

At this point, there are very few people who I think can go head to head with Punk to put on the best show. He has had great matches consistently and he deserves the spot he has right now.

I see Punk walking out of TLC as champion, but hopefully, the match will still prove to be exciting.
