New York Yankees-San Francisco Giants: Possible Trading Partners?
The Giants have recently acquired former Yankee, Randy Johnson. They have a pretty nice pitching staff, but they are flawed. They have no offense really, and the Giants GM, Brian Sabean, hinted he might listen to offers involving Jonathan Sanchez. With the Yankees carrying a bunch of corner outfielders, the Giants might be a trade partner.
"“We’re going to have to be open-minded,” Sabean said, although he repeated that he wouldn’t obtain a player who’s eligible for free agency after 2009.

from MLB Trade Rumors:
""The Giants have been listed as one of the teams who might be a good trade partner with the New York Yankees for a corner outfielder, in particular Xavier Nady, but he doesn’t meet Sabean’s requirement regarding free agency. Nady’s contract ends after the ‘09 season."
I am not a big fan of this. I would much rather have Hughes and Pettitte and keep that spot for someone within the organization. I am satisfied with what they have now. They don’t really need to bring anyone else in, except Pettitte—if he wants to return for the $10 million.
Here are the results from the most recent polls I made:
How would you rate the Yankees off-season so far?
Amazing 278 Votes (49.47%)
Good 227 Votes (40.39%)
Not bad, but decent 33 Votes (5.87%)
Bad 24 Votes (4.27%)
It seems like the majority of people are pleased with what the Yankees got done this off-season. They were definitely the winners in December, but will they win it in October?
Do you think Manny Ramirez would be a good fit for the Yanks?
Yes 152 Votes (51.18%)
No 145 Votes (48.82%)
Yankee fans are at a split decision on Ramirez. Many think he would be great for the lineup, but on the other hand.. a lot of people don’t like the baggage he carries. With the addition of Mark Teixeira, the chances of Manny coming to NY are slim.
A new poll is up now so go vote! Who should be the Yankees fifth starter in 2009?
