UFC 140 Results: Chan Sung Jung Surprises in UFC After Struggling in WEC
Chan Sung Jung went winless in the WEC, but he's already making waves in the more competitive UFC.
Go figure.
Jung, who notched his second UFC win in as many chances on Saturday in UFC 140, shocked the world when he knocked out Mark Hominick in just seven seconds, tying the record for the fastest knockout in UFC history.
Said Jung, via MMAJunkie.com:
""You're always expecting to have a great win, but yeah, that feels great. Just because I've been knocked out once before doesn't mean I'm not a great striker."
"
It was Hominick's first homecoming since the passing of his longtime trainer and friend Shawn Tompkins, and Hominick admitted he may have lost his focus.
Said Hominick:
""I've got to give it up to him. I just came in too wild. I wanted to hit him with a clean shot because he has his hands down."
"
What ended up happening was Hominick missing with a left hand and eating a perfectly-placed right hand from Jung, which instantly dropped Hominick before Jung jumped on him and pounded him before the referee jumped in seven seconds into the fight.
Don't forget, in March, Jung earned the Submission of the Year when he locked up Leonard Garcia late in the second round of their fight via a twister, the first time a twister had ever ended a UFC fight.
Call me crazy, but Jung is starting to look like a pretty good fighter.
At just 24 years old, he has plenty of room to grow, too.
