TNA Wrestling: TNA Project in India to Feature Several Former WWE and TNA Stars
The spinoff wrestling project that TNA is starting in India (for more info on the project, check out this link) is starting to really take shape.
According to Prowrestling.net, the project is being backed by a major production company called Endemol. Endemol produces shows in over 23 countries including Fear Factor, Wipeout, Extreme Makeover: Home Edition and Deal or No Deal in the US.
Talent for the project include Chris Masters, Chavo Guerrero, MVP, Cliff Compton, Nick Dinsmore (a/k/a Eugene), Sonjay Dutt, Shawn Daivari and his younger brother, Arya Daivari. There will also be several Indian talents who are currently being trained by Savio Vega at Ohio Valley Wrestling in Louisville, KY.
Former WWE talent Carlito Colon and former WWE and TNA talent Bobby Lashley have also been connected to the project, but not confirmed.
A major Indian celebrity was also attached to the project, but backed out due to medical reasons. To make up for it, Matt Morgan and Abyss of TNA were added to the roster.
According to the Wrestling Observer, Shimmer Women's Athletes champion Cheerleader Melissa is also involved with the project. Melissa wrestled in TNA as Alissa Flash and Raisha Saed, a Middle Eastern gimmick.
The project is a spinoff of TNA, so any talent involved is not assured of working in TNA as well. It has the potential to be a very lucrative venture for TNA due to Endemol's involvement.
Although the show is being targeted strictly for the Indian market, there exists the possibility that it will air on cable or satellite systems that air international programming. It will air on the Viacom network Colors.
