Is Randy Orton Turning Babyface?

Joe Burgett Dec 28, 2008

It has been discussed for a while now, but it seems to be coming full circle with the creative team the last few weeks. They want to see Randy Orton as a babyface instead of a heel.

I personally love Orton's heel character, and wonder why they are even thinking about it. They feel that nothing seems to work for Orton. Everything they do with him only gets him cheered more.

He is huge with the young male demographic, according to wrestlenews.com. He is doing well as the leader of the group of second generation stars in Legacy, and they feel they should leave him as a heel to get the faction off the ground.

Still we always hear RKO chants when he comes out, and screams of girls and cheers from guys when you hear "I hear voices in my head, they talk to me, they understand" which is the opening of Orton's entrance lyrics.

Legacy will only survive if Orton continues to be the leader. The WWE creative team has also said that many surprises are going to happen in Legacy. Possibly Orton could turn face in one of them.

As we know Ted DiBiase Jr. is the star of the upcoming WWE Films movie The Marine 2. He will have the fame and the fans to headline a Pay-Per-View against Orton. We could see Orton and DiBiase go at it once he returns.

And it would work because DiBiase has the punt to the head Orton gave him a few months ago against him. So he'd have a reason to attack Orton if the WWE wanted to use him that way.

And since Orton has the most popularity, it would be only right to turn him face at that time. He could lose Legacy to DiBiase and have them against him. Because technically Orton is a third-generation superstar.

Don't be surprised if that were to come up in a storyline. What do you think about the creative team wanting Orton to be a babyface?
