Chicago Bulls Rumors: Updated Free Agent Targets with Caron Butler off Market

Kelly ScalettaDec 9, 2011

With Caron Butler getting signed yesterday by the Los Angeles Clippers, Chicago Bulls fans everywhere are wondering when the Bulls are going to do something. Shane Battier was later taken off the market, before Grant Hill was today.

Who is now left and will the Bulls do something to upgrade their shooting guard situation?

Last year, the lack of scoring ability from a shooting guard ended up being the downfall of the team. What's more, most have agreed that it is their primary need going forward.

However, Bulls rumors and news over the last two days have been frustratingly hard to come by. Brian Scalabrene is coming back on a non-guaranteed contract and Keith Bogans may or may not come back.

Oh, yeah, and Luther Head is in camp. Yawn.

While Bulls fans nervously sit around anticipating anything that could be perceived as good news, there has been little to find.

Since Hoopsworld reported two days ago that Jamal Crawford would be obtained in a sign and trade, there has been literally nothing else coming forward on that front. If you want to scratch the itch, though, NBA.com had a nice little feature on what Jamal Crawford would bring to the Bulls.

Crawford is another player who is mentioned a lot in conjunction with the Bulls, and while it's been reported that Tom Thibodau called him, there's frustratingly little on what was offered or if that was received.

There have been reports that there is some mutual interest between the Bulls and Josh Howard, but there's nothing on how far that has gone, if it's gone anywhere at all.

So, what are the Bulls doing? Apparently, they're waiting. If you're looking for news, you might have to continue to wait.
