An alleged victim of Jerry Sandusky is raising questions as to whether or not his wife, Dottie Sandusky, really knew about the alleged sexual abuse happening in their house.
According to a report by the Associated Press, "one accuser told the grand jury that Dottie Sandusky was home when he screamed for help while her husband sexually assaulted him in a basement bedroom."
Nobody has heard from Dottie once this scandal broke, but she finally spoke up to defend her husband. As reported by myfoxphilly.com, Dottie released a statement that claims her husband is innocent.
"I am angry about these false accusations that such a terrible incident ever occurred in my home. No child who ever visited our home was ever forced to stay in our basement and fed there."
There is no proof that Sandusky's wife knew anything, but many are implying that she had to know because it was in her home. Still, you can't charge anyone just because you think they did something.
Is it possible that she did in fact know what took place? Sure it is, but there is no evidence other than one alleged victim's words.
It wouldn't be a shock if she did and is just denying everything right now. She would be just as much at fault as Joe Paterno, Mike McQueary and the other Penn State officials who allegedly knew but never spoke.
In sexual abuse cases, some people are too fearful to do anything even though they know what is happening is wrong. Of course, in this case, only Sandusky and his wife know what really took place in their home, but right now they're claiming innocence.
In the Associated Press report, Susan Moss, a family and divorce lawyer based in New York City, says that there is a financial interest in this mess for Sandusky's wife.
"Make no mistake, Dottie has a financial interest in this because once these criminal cases are decided, there will be civil suits by each and every victim, and those victims' suits will go after all the (Sanduskys') assets."
We already know that one lawsuit has been filed, and it is expected many more will occur.
These are hard times for all those involved, and things will more than likely continue to get worse until the truth is revealed.
Expect Sandusky and his wife to fight this for as long as they can, continuing to deny any abuse ever happened.
