Why Christian Cage Will Not Be Active Right Away if He Comes to the WWE!

Joe Burgett Dec 27, 2008

For a while now there has been word around B/R that if Christian Cage were to sign with the WWE, he would be able to compete right away. Just as he did when he left the WWE for TNA.

But that will not happen, of course. And there is one big reason why. See, Cage's contract had something that just about everyone in TNA and I know the WWE has. It is a 90-day no-compete clause.

Which means if Cage comes to the WWE, he will not be able to be involved in a storyline or match. Cage signed this when he came to TNA from the WWE.

Of course, like many who come to TNA from the WWE, they want to just get out and get into something better right away. Cage was going to be the No. 1 guy in TNA, so, of course, he thought he'd never think about leaving almost three years ago.

But now he realizes it may be better in the WWE and he is thinking about going. So if he were to go to the WWE, it would rule him out of the Royal Rumble, as one B/R writer suggested.

However, he would be able to be at Wrestlemania because the 90-day clause would be over. I know he would be involved because of it first of being the 25th anniversury. They possibly could get him in the "Money in the Bank" ladder match.

Possibly as a surprise entry, if they could. Now, one writer on B/R also said he could come right into the WWE and possibly be in a storyline with Edge at Mania.

I guess we will have to see, but, for now, if he were to sign with the WWE, it would be a while before he could be on WWE TV. It was the same with Gail Kim, who came to the WWE a few months back.

She had the same 90 clause in her contract, which made her stay out of the WWE's shows. While she has been off of wrestling on TV, she has been training down in FCW to get better.

Cage's return to the WWE looks like it will happen, but he could stay in TNA. If he does, TNA already has a storyline prepared for him to come back with. That is because the 90 clause doesn't affect him with TNA, considering they issued it in their contract.

Also. he is not leaving for another company; he is staying in the same one. So you could see him in TNA shows once he signs a contract with them.

His contract is believed to have expired in the last couple of days, so he may want to sign a contract fast.

I can tell you Cage will come to the WWE, document it right now. It hasn't happened officially, of course, but I believe it will.

If he wanted to stay in TNA, he would have already signed with them by now. I mean, they offered him a contract even before he was out of storylines in TNA. I think if he wanted to stay, he would be on TNA shows by now.

He is coming to the WWE, I just wonder where, when, and how he will come back. It is just a waiting game for now.
