Chris Paul Blockbuster Lands Star Point Guard in Los Angeles
A wild, rumor-filled couple of weeks is about to be wrapped up as the Los Angeles Lakers and New Orleans Hornets iron out a deal to send Chris Paul to LA.
Yahoo! sports writer Adrian Wojnarowski just announced that the teams have reached a certain level of agreement to a three-team trade that would send Paul to Los Angeles in exchange for Pau Gasol and Lamar Odom.
Draft picks will likely be added to the package for the Hornets, but nothing has been decided concerning picks from LA.
This deal leaves Bynum in LA, which leaves huge implications. This will allow the Lakers front office to make a run at Dwight Howard.
Bynum has privately stated that he would like to have a bigger role on his own team.
As it currently stands, the Los Angeles Lakers look ready to construct their own Big Three and return to dominance in the Western Conference.
Los Angeles was always an option for Paul, who made it clear that he would rather be traded to the Lakers or Knicks rather than the Boston Celtics.
Other spurned teams from the Paul sweepstakes include the Golden State Warriors, Los Angeles Clippers and the Orlando Magic.
