Saints vs. Titans: TV Schedule, Live Stream, Radio, Game Time and More

Eric BowmanDec 7, 2011

The New Orleans Saints look to extend their win streak to six games with a win over the Tennessee Titans on Sunday.

They're on quite a roll, and it's going to be very hard for the Titans to slow them down. Tennessee has started to play much better as of late, and a victory over the Saints would give the Titans a great confidence boost down the home stretch of the 2011 season.

Playoffs are an option for both teams, but they need to keep winning, especially the Titans.

With that said, let's take a look at some specifics of this Week 14 showdown.

When: Sunday, Dec. 11 at 1:00 p.m. ET

Where: LP Field, Nashville, TN

Watch: FOX

Listen: WWL 870 AM in New Orleans, WGFX 104.5 FM in Nashville

Betting Line: New Orleans (-4)

What's At Stake?

This is merely just another game for the Saints, who will have no trouble reaching the playoffs this year. However, a mediocre performance on the road will be a cause for concern, so look for New Orleans to play at a high level.

The Titans need not only to prove to everyone else that they can beat the top teams in the league—but they also need to prove it to themselves. Playing at home definitely helps, but they haven't beaten an elite team this season since the beginning of the year, which many called a fluke win.

New Orleans Injury Report

DL Turk McBride (ankle) missed last week, but his status is uncertain at this time, according to CBSSports

Tennessee Injury Report

WR Donnie Avery (hamstring), DB Tommie Campbell (shoulder), DB Jason McCourty (concussion), LB Barrett Ruud (groin) and WR Nate Washington (ankle) are all banged up, but their statuses are uncertain at this time, according to CBSSports

Fantasy Start 'Em, Sit 'Em, Sleeper

Start: Drew Brees, QB

This is obvious, as he is a must-start every week. He may have had some rough spots here or there this season in terms of fantasy football, but he's on fire right now and will not stop anytime soon.

Brees has thrown for over 300 yards in his last three games, and that trend will continue on Sunday. Jeff Duncan of The Times-Picayune tweeted earlier just how good Brees has been this year.

Sit: Nate Washington, WR

He's not 100 percent, but he should be playing on Sunday. However, this does not mean he needs to be starting for you.

Washington's production has gone down recently, as he's only caught five passes in the last two games. The Saints pass defense isn't very good, but they know they'll have to step up on Sunday.

Since Washington is the Titans' best option, look for the Saints to shut him down and force Matt Hasselbeck to look elsewhere to make plays.

Sleeper: Robert Meachem, WR

Brees loves to spread the ball around so much that none of his receivers are stars in fantasy football. Meachem caught three passes last week, but one happened to be a deep-ball throw he hauled in for a touchdown, which helped him have over 100 yards on the day.

There's no guarantee Meachem shines, but the potential is there. As a high-risk, high-reward player, Meachem is a definite sleeper for Sunday's contest.

What They're Saying

Jeff Duncan covers the Saints for The Times-Picayune, and he tweeted where the Saints stand in the NFL playoff picture.

Since the Falcons take on the Carolina Panthers, clinching the division doesn't seem likely. Still, the fact it's a possibility is something that the Saints and their fans should be excited about.

This has been a great year for New Orleans, and locking up the NFC South before they have to face Atlanta again would be a tremendous accomplishment.

Jim Wyatt covers the Titans for the The Tennessean, and he tweeted where the Titans are in the NFL playoff picture.

With four games left, the Titans aren't out of it. After the Saints, Tennessee takes on Indianapolis, Jacksonville and Houston, and all of those are winnable games.

At 7-5, the Titans are right in the mix of things, and a victory over the Saints would definitely help. Sitting in seventh place in the AFC, the Titans can soon surpass the Cincinnati Bengals for a wild-card spot—but only if they keep playing at a high level.

Saints Player to Watch

Marques Colston is the Saints No. 1 receiver, but this year hasn't been that great for him. In fact, he hasn't caught a touchdown pass since Week 7.

He's been good the past few weeks, but not great. He needs to start picking things up now before the postseason gets under way, as it will greatly help his team.

Titans Player to Watch

Chris Johnson hasn't been himself this season, but the Titans desperately need him to be on his A-game on Sunday.

These past few weeks, Johnson has looked like his old self; Tennessee's season would be completely different had he been that way all year.

Look for Johnson to shine bright in this big game, helping keep the Titans competitive.

Key Matchup

The Titans' secondary has to find a way to prevent Brees from dominating.

He's absolutely shredding opposing defenses, and Tennessee will find it very difficult to bring him down.

Consistent pressure on Brees will make him force throws, which could lead to turnovers. The more times the Titans have the ball, they better off they'll be.

Prediction

Tennessee plays very well at home, especially against teams much better than them. Unfortunately, they don't have what it takes to stop this potent Saints offense.

Saints 30, Titans 20
