Liga BBVA: Predictions for Round 15 Fixtures of La Liga

Mikhail TurnerDec 8, 2011

La Liga returns this weekend with the big one. The first "Clasico" of the league season will be in the minds of football fans worldwide and could go a long way in deciding who ends up with the eventual title.

Here are the predictions for Round 15 of La Liga.

Levante vs. Sevilla

Real Betis V Real Madrid - Laliga Ea Sports

Two points separate these teams in the league right now. Confidence and form will be key. Levante received a lesson from Barcelona last weekend and—while they are still performing above expectations—they may have lost a little confidence.

Sevilla is the only team remaining to have not lost one single game away from home so far this season. Something has to give in this game.

Prediction: Sevilla win 3-2

Real Betis vs. Valencia

The honeymoon period is definitely finished for this Real Betis squad as they suffered yet another loss last weekend. Valencia will hope a "Clasico" defeat for either team—coupled with a win—will bring them even closer to the top two positions.

Prediction: Valencia win 3-1

Real Madrid vs. Barcelona

I don't think there is too much else to say about this game. As dominant as Real Madrid has been so far this season, the form book goes out the window.

I honestly see a draw here, despite who I think may win and who I want to win. The only result that would surprise me is a blowout win for either team. If somebody wins, it will be tight.

Prediction: 2-2 draw

Rayo Vallecano vs. Sporting Gijon

Both teams were on the losing end last weekend but Rayo Vallecano is somewhat comfortably positioned in 11th place.

Aside from Sporting's loss against Real Madrid, they have made some strides in the last few weeks.

Prediction: 1-1 draw

Villarreal vs. Real Sociedad

Villarreal is going through some tough results at the moment and a game against a confident Real Sociedad side is not what the team would like to see. However, home advantage may help the Yellow Submarine see things through.

Prediction: Villarreal 2-1

Getafe vs. Granada CF

Three points separate these teams and Getafe's home record puts them in a good position for this game.

Prediction: Getafe win 1-0

Malaga vs. Osasuna

Malaga needs to get back on track if they want to realize their dreams this season. Osasuna can overtake them with a win and both Atletico Madrid and Athletic Bilbao will soon be within reach.

Prediction: Malaga win 2-0

Real Zaragoza vs. Mallorca

Zaragoza has slipped to the bottom of the table but could make a positive move at home against Mallorca on Sunday. Meanwhile, Mallorca has not won any games away from home. On current form, a tie would be the best thing for them.

Prediction: 1-1 draw

Athletic Bilbao vs. Racing Santander

Racing Santander shocked Villarreal in a home game last weekend, but Athletic Bilbao is a whole different animal. Expect Bilbao to dominate at home.

Prediction: Atheltic Bilbao win 3-0

Espanyol vs. Atletico Madrid

Espanyol could overtake Atletico Madrid with a win this weekend. Considering Atletico's away form, that is an entirely likely possibility.

Atletico Madrid has too much talent to continue faltering and they will want to be in a good position before the Christmas break comes along.

Prediction: Atletico Madrid win 2-1
