WWE News: Latest on WWE Possibly Changing Design of WWE Championship Belt
A big chunk of WWE fans were jumping for joy earlier this week when a report came out stating that the WWE might be getting rid of its WWE Championship “spinner belt” sometime soon.
I was one of those people who was pretty excited about the prospects of the company finally dropping that ridiculous design and either reverting back to a design from the past or coming up with a completely new one.
So much for that.

From PWInsider.com (via SEScoops.com):
"Regarding rumors of WWE changing the appearance of the WWE Championship, while some in the organization are pushing to get rid of the “spinner” strap, no official change is currently planned.
"
Ugh. I guess I let the excitement from that original report get the best of me.
I’m still holding out hope, however, that either Vince McMahon wises up and realizes how ridiculous that stupid spinner belt actually looks, or that enough people in the company can get in his ear and convince him to change it.
Given that the WWE reportedly already has another design done, it’s not like the company has to put in a ton of work to come up with the next WWE Championship belt. It’s already been made, and—who knows?—maybe there’s a chance that the new design actually winds up being a better seller than the current one.
If it looks anything like the hideous WWE Tag Team Championship belts, that’s obviously not gonna happen. But you’ll never know how fans will react to a new WWE title belt until you actually introduce one on TV.
Personally, I think it would help someone like CM Punk get even more over than he already is if he came out on Raw one week, took the WWE title, threw it in the trash and then introduced a new one for the whole world to see.
As long as the design doesn’t look like crap and the fans don’t hate it as a result, it would be a good move for the WWE to finally drop the spinner belt and get a title that actually says “Champion” as opposed to “Champ.”
Plus, if the new belt fails, then you can always have John Cena win the title back, bring back the old spinner belt design and then become even more hated by the 18-34 male demographic. Then, a Cena heel turn is pretty much inevitable.
Oops. Sorry for going off topic, y’all…
