NFL Power Rankings Week 14: Flailing Teams That Look Hopeless

Ryan RudnanskyDec 6, 2011

There's disappointing, and then there's downright hopeless.

If I was on any of these teams, I'd fake injury so I could get carted off into the locker room and save myself from being part of a devastating loss.

Or I would demand a trade, one of the two.

Here are three NFL teams scraping the bottom of the barrel so much they are getting splinters.

3. Jacksonville Jaguars (3-9)

After their loss to the San Diego Chargers on Monday night, the Jaguars are now 3-9 and in the bottom of the league in points per game.

Running back Maurice Jones-Drew has done his best, but rookie quarterback Blaine Gabbert isn't exactly developing week-to-week, nor do the Jaguars give him many options to throw to.

2. Minnesota Vikings (2-10)

You simply can't go 2-10 unless you're a bad football team—unless you have Randy Moss, Terrell Owens and Albert Haynesworth all creating bad team chemistry.

The Vikings basically have two stars, defensive end Jared Allen and running back Adrian Peterson, but two players can't single-handedly make you a good team.

The Vikings have lost four straight games and they better hope rookie quarterback Christian Ponder develops into a star.

1. Indianapolis Colts (0-12)

Fortunately for the Colts, they'll likely land Stanford quarterback Andrew Luck with the No. 1 pick in next year's draft.

But they have widespread problems throughout the roster.

The running back situation is murky and the defense has simply been horrid, allowing a league-worst 29.8 points per game.

If I was a fan of the Colts, I'd bury my head in the sand until the NFL draft.
