WWE News: Booker T Reportedly Sticking Around After Feud with Cody Rhodes

Drake OzDec 6, 2011

After returning to the WWE at the 2011 Royal Rumble, Booker T transitioned into his current role as a commentator on SmackDown

But after less than a year at the announcers table, the WWE is in the midst of bringing Booker T back to the ring for a feud with Intercontinental Champion Cody Rhodes.

Booker T was supposed to face Rhodes on last week’s episode of SmackDown, but was attacked by Rhodes before the match could actually take place, and now, it looks like those two will meet at the WWE TLC pay-per-view.

If the WWE has its way, though, Booker T will still be competing inside the squared circle once his feud with Rhodes concludes.

"

WWE was very impressed with Booker T who worked matches with Cody Rhodes at this past weekend's live events. According to F4Wonline.com, officials are considering putting Booker T in another feud after he finishes with Rhodes.

"

I absolutely love this decision.

I don’t see Booker T as someone who’s coming back in order to win another world title to add to his resume, and by the looks of things, he’s returning for the benefit of the company to help Rhodes get over as one of the WWE’s top heels.

That’s a great move by the WWE, and it would be an even better one to keep him around after his feud with Rhodes is finished.

Booker T recently tweeted that he was training for his “final run,” so putting him in another feud that culminates with the last match of his career at WrestleMania 28 would be a nice sendoff.

In that case, he can go toe-to-toe with another one of the WWE’s up-and-coming heels and help him get over as well. Then, he can hang up his boots for good and head back to the announcers table where he’s greatly improved.

Booker T is one of the more underrated and underappreciated wrestlers the business has ever seen, and he definitely deserves to end his career on the grandest stage of them all.

I hope the WWE follows through with its plan and makes that happen.
