NBA Rumors: Dwight Howard Wants to Play in Big Market, Lakers His Best Option

With all of the rumors circulating around Orlando Magic center Dwight Howard, in the end, the ball is entirely in Howard's court.

If it's the intention of Howard to take his star appeal to a large market, then there is really only one option for him.

That's the Los Angeles Lakers.

If you believe Lakers forward Matt Barnes, then Los Angeles is exactly where Howard wants to be.

If Howard wants the big market and the attention that comes along with it, then the Lakers are really his only option.

On the court, the Lakers make sense for Howard. Playing with Kobe Bryant for the last few years of his career will make the Lakers contenders for an NBA championship every season. Contending for a title is the main reason Howard would consider leaving Orlando in the first place.

Off the court, taking his craft to Los Angeles benefits Howard as well. Howard himself has said, "There's more you can do in a bigger market."

He's young and is a marketable guy. His record is clean as well; he isn't one of these guys that gets in trouble off the court.

Add all that up with the potential of playing in Los Angeles and Howard's potential off the court could be as big as anything he does on it.

Some guys thrive under the big lights on the big stage and some guys crumble. It's yet to be determined which type of guy Howard will be, but if he really wants to play in a big market, then the Lakers are the perfect fit.
