Tiger Woods Video: Watch Hilarious Animated Parody of Woods After Chevron Win
Tiger Woods got back in the win column for the first time in more than two years by outdueling Zach Johnson at the Chevron World Challenge. Following the triumph, a hilarious animated video was released recounting the turmoil Woods has endured since his last win.
The video is embedded above. It was created by Next Media Animation, a Taiwan-based group that has become known for twisting current events in short, quirky videos.
It starts with the infamous Thanksgiving night incident involving Woods and his ex-wife Elin Nordegren, which eventually led to word of his numerous affairs leaking out. It became clear during the following months that Woods was a downtrodden man.
His golf game spiraled out of control to the point where it was a minor miracle if his tee shot didn't land in the rough or he nailed a long putt. He began to lose sponsors left and right with only a select few choosing to stick with him throughout the process.
It seemed like Woods was taking a mental note of everybody who turned their back on him during his darkest hour. Tiger knew he'd eventually find his way back to the top and used those people as motivation to work even harder to make it happen.
The video eventually reaches a point where it starts talking about his comeback. Using a Rocky-themed montage, Woods regains the strength he had lost and proceeds to rip a tree out of the ground to use it for an impromptu weight-lifting session.
In reality, what he's managed to get back over the past few weeks is his mental toughness, which is the most important aspect of golf.
During his time atop the game, players feared Woods. They knew if he had a lead going into Sunday his red Nike shirt was coming out and the rest of the field was playing for second place. Without that killer instinct, Woods was nothing more than another golfer grinding out 72 holes.
However, closing out the Presidents Cup for the United States a couple weeks ago seemed to give him his swagger back. It was even more evident during the final two holes on Sunday as he went birdie-birdie to win by a stroke.
The parody finishes with Woods fist-pumping the night away after his big win, partying like it's 1999. Vintage Tiger is back and the golfing world couldn't be any happier.
Look for a big season from Woods in 2012 as he begins to reassert himself as the sport's most dominant figure once again.
