Thursday Night Football: Stat Projection for LeSean McCoy & Game's Biggest Stars

Chris TrapassoDec 1, 2011

Just because tonight's tilt between the Philadelphia Eagles against the Seattle Seahawks lacks intrigue like the majority of this season's prime-time games doesn't mean I shouldn't spend time predicting the stat lines of the best players.

It is fantasy football crunch time, after all.

Can LeSean McCoy rebound from his disappointing 31-yard performance in last week's loss to the Patriots?

What about Marshawn Lynch?

He has eclipsed the 100-yard plateau in three of his last four games.

Will that continue against the Eagles tonight?

LeSean McCoy

1 of 4

The fact that McCoy only received 10 carries last week was due to the fact that—as most teams do against New England—the Eagles were playing from behind for the majority of the game.

Against the Seahawks, I expect Andy Reid to establish McCoy early.

Although we were enamored by the possibilities of Philadelphia's aerial offense this year, they were the most successful when McCoy received a lot of touches and actually took the ball out of Michael Vick's hands.

The Seahawks run defense is respectable, but Roy Helu of the Redskins did rack up 108 yards and a score on 23 carries a week ago.

While the coaching staff trusts Vince Young throwing the ball downfield, I think they realize that McCoy must be established early.

Prediction: 23 carries, 114 yards, 1 TD,  5 catches, 32 yards

Marshawn Lynch

2 of 4

The Seahawks are a team that knows their identity and are totally fine with it.

Nothing against Tarvaris Jackson, but they love frequently feeding Marshawn Lynch.

He's had at least 23 carries in each of Seattle's last four games, and he's going up against an Eagles run defense that's allowing more than 110 rushing yards per contest.

Their secondary has been far more susceptible than many of us ever expected, but if the Seahawks do decide to throw it, it'll mostly come after they get Lynch going when they can suck in safeties and linebackers with play-action.

Not a monster game for the former Buffalo Bills runner, but a typical, solid outing.

Prediction: 24 carries, 97 yards, 2 TDs

Vince Young

3 of 4

Young has filled in admirably for Mike Vick despite falling victim to many big drops by DeSean Jackson and others.

Riley Cooper has probably been the most reliable guy for Young since he's been the starter.

Jeremy Maclin is out, and we aren't sure how much time Jackson, who's clearly in Andy Reid's doghouse, will see the field.

The Seahawks secondary has allowed nearly 240 yards passing a game this season, and even with the depleted receiving contingent, Young should have another respectable game.

He always seems poised when dropping back to pass, and Seattle has only registered 20 sacks on the year.

Prediction: 23-of-37, 270 yards, 2 TDs, 2 INTs

Tarvaris Jackson

4 of 4

Given the situation the Seahawks' coaching staff has placed him in of late, Jackson hasn't been all that bad.

He's become a respectable "game manager," although I'd like to see him complete more passes.

He hasn't had more than 17 completions since the October 30th game against the Bengals and has three touchdowns to five interceptions since then.

With Marshawn Lynch shouldering the load on offense, Jackson won't be asked to do too much.

Prediction: 17-of-31, 175 yards, 1 TD, 2 INTs
