Miami Heat Rumors: Point Guard Starved Heat Should Pass on Caron Butler
The Heat need to add another piece to the puzzle to give themselves the best opportunity possible to obtain a ring, but their interest in Caron Butler shows that they are completely off track.
CBS' Ken Berger Tweeted that the Heat were one of the teams interested in Butler, who is an unrestricted free agent.
Butler is coming off an injury that cut his season short last year with the Mavs and even though the Heat could use the 15 PPG and five RPG Butler would likely produce if he returned to Miami, they need a point guard more.
Mario Chalmers isn't the answer and getting a talented point to run the offense would maximize the Heat's potential far more than Butler ever could.
The Heat wouldn't exactly have to bring in Chris Paul to see their production as a whole pickup by improving their point-guard situation.
An awkward Delonte West, LeBron James reunion just might be what the doctor ordered in Miami.
It's certainly not the safest acquisition, but Pat Riley could easily fall in love with West and his experience with James makes this pickup even more enticing.
Three players don't win a championship and even though the Heat have to be commended for trying to plug a hole, they are barking up the wrong tree by talking about bringing in Butler.
