NFL Week 13 Picks: Teams That Will Pound the Ground for Wins

Tim KeeneyNov 30, 2011

Here's a look at three NFL teams that I predict will run the ball with tons of success this week on their way to victories.

Denver Broncos

That's it. I'm done not believing in Tim Tebow and the Broncos.

They clearly have a solid game plan and they are using it with major success. That game plan, of course, is to play terrific defense and use the Tebow-Willis McGahee run option all night long.

It's worked during the last four games and it will likely work again against Minnesota this week. The Vikings are giving up 135 rushing yards per game, which is fifth worst in the NFL.

Don't be surprised if Tebow runs it 15 times and McGahee gets at least 20 carries en route to a Denver win.

Jacksonville Jaguars

Remember last time Jacksonville was on Monday Night Football? They upset the Baltimore Ravens, so I have no doubts they will be able to beat the slumping San Diego Chargers this time around.

What's more, the Jags are at home and, even with hardly any fans, they seem to play better there.

They very well may win, but they aren't going to do with because of Blaine Gabbert. The rookie has been atrocious this season. If Jacksonville is going to have any success in this one, it will be with Maurice Jones-Drew.

Jones-Drew leads the league in total rushing attempts with 230, and he should have at least 25 carries in this one as Jacksonville continues San Diego's woes.

San Francisco 49ers

St. Louis just gave up over 200 yards to Beanie Wells—the second time they've let a running back do that—and there's no doubt San Fran will attempt to do that with Frank Gore.

Even if they don't have a ton of success with Gore, San Francisco will be ahead early in this one and will run the ball a lot just to move the clock.
