NFL Power Rankings Week 13: Disappointing Teams Ready to Bounce Back

Wes ODonnellNov 30, 2011

A loss in Week 13 can end a number of teams' seasons.

As we come down the final stretch of 2011, the pretenders and the contenders have quickly been separated.

Here is a look at some disappointing teams ready to bounce back and make one last push.

New York Jets

At 6-5 and following a big win of the Bills, the Jets have already started their bounce back. But Buffalo was a team sliding into irrelevancy. This week, the Jets will make their turnaround complete with a win on the road against the Redskins.

That isn't saying much considering the Redskins' current status, but the Jets need to prove they can beat up on inferior teams on the road.

Chicago Bears

It was only one loss, but the Bears cannot afford any with Jay Cutler out for extended time.

Chicago's five-point defeat in Oakland last week was a reminder that the playoffs can be taken away from them as swiftly as their five-game winning streak was.

This week, the Bears are back at Soldier Field and will use their running game to demolish the Kansas City Chiefs.

Kyle Orton, a former Bear, could very well be starting for the AFC West team and Chicago's defense will be ready for him.

New York Giants

Even if the Giants don't beat the Packers in Week 13, it will be important for them to play well.

They've lost three straight games and the calls for Tom Coughlin's head in the wake of yet another late-season collapse have already begun.

But as big as things get, and even if the Giants drop four straight, they'll have the opportunity to play the Cowboys twice before the season closes and can beat both the Redskins and the Jets.

Big Blue needs to find something to play for and this is the week to do it.
