21 Things on My Wrestling Wish List for Christmas

David LevinNov 29, 2011

There are 25 shopping days until Christmas if you are counting at home.

And just so you know, it is sunny and 72 here in Florida. Not trying to rub it in.

Wrestling has become such a part of everything I do these days, some could argue it has become my mistress, the one that gets all my attention.

I have really taken a liking to it, much like I did when I was younger and thought the sun rose and set on Steve Austin's bald head. Man, I need another hobby to help this obsession.

But as we get closer to the end of the year and with the holidays fast approaching, I have a wish list of what I want to see happen in both the WWE and TNA. For me, you cannot have one without the other.

Kind of like Santa Claus and Hanukkah Harry, only better.

Here are my 25 wishes for wrestling in the new year.

21. Longer Title Reigns

1 of 21

It amazes me that Dolph Ziggler and Cody Rhodes have been long-time champions with the two secondary belts in the WWE, but the WWE Title and the World Title change hands like changing your underwear.

It makes no sense. What happened to the days of Bruno Sammartino and Hulk Hogan, who both held the title for what seemed like eons?

The true judge of how good a champion is begins with a long title reign where he fights off all contenders.

Then and only then can he be declared a real "champion."

20. More Divas Who Can Wrestle

2 of 21

This is where TNA kicks the WWE's ass: women who can wrestle for more than five minutes.

TNA works to make sure the women in the Knockouts Division are just as vital as men in some cases.

This not about pillow fights and lingerie matches. It is about title supremacy and feuding with other women.

19. Getting Kevin Nash off Air

3 of 21

He serves no purpose.

If he were continually fighting with Triple H or CM Punk, it would be one thing. But all he does is give you a vignette and leaves.

There is no setup, nothing.

It is just plain boring!

18. A Better Fate for the Pope

4 of 21

He is the best superstar in TNA that is not being used properly.

He could be a world title holder.

Creative is holding him back.

17. The Elimation of Eric Bischoff from the Camera

5 of 21

He and Ric Flair need to leave the building.

No feud with his son. No crap about an affair with Traci Brooks.

No face time at all.

Go away, Eric. And take Ric with you.

16. More of Sheamus

6 of 21

He is really growing on me.

His work is better of late and his "face" time is better than expected.

He could be a true face for the next decade.

15. The End to This "Conspiracy"

7 of 21

I really never thought it began.

Funny how storylines get brushed under the rug.

So whatever the story was, let it die a peaceful death.

14. The Formation of a Tag Team Involving RVD and AJ Styles

8 of 21

It would be awesome!

Both are some of the best technicians in the ring, but together, they provide a pace that his hard to match.

Make this happen, creative. Please.

13. The Return of Kharma

9 of 21

The Divas in the WWE need one true villain.

Kharma can do that for the WWE.

When she returns, all hell could break loose.

12. Melina in TNA

10 of 21

Having Gail Kim, Melina and Tara in TNA is a coup for the company.

All three are tremendous workers and would provide a great rivalry going forward.

11. No More of These Feuds Between Current and Past Superstars

11 of 21

Jack Swagger and Jerry Lawler.

Cody Rhodes and Booker T.

They really have no place on camera and are not as entertaining as you think.

10. A Long Title Reign for Matt Morgan and Crimson

12 of 21

The two giants have something good going in TNA.

They could be the company's "Road Warriors."

Creative was on the money to put these two together.

9. A Better Lot for Mid-Carders.

13 of 21

The Pope, Drew McIntyre, Justin Gabriel.

They all need a better push and the thought of this talent being wasted at the mid-card level is sad.

Just sad.

8. More Kelly Kelly

14 of 21

OK, I said it. I am sure everyone is happy now?

7. The Return of Chris Jericho

15 of 21

He is too talented to stay away. He needs to come back and feud with John Cena or CM Punk.

Jericho left when he needed to.

Now it is time for us to reel him back in.

6. A True Feud of James Storm and Bobby Roode

16 of 21

TNA would benefit greatly from this and the fans won't be able to get enough of it.

Two great wrestlers with budding mic skills and former tag team champions. It is the stuff we all love to see in the classic heel turn.

Make it happen.

5. TNA Hires Paul Heyman

17 of 21

I am starting to think Heyman, for all his antics, can save TNA.

It would be a great get for them. And he is creative enough to make it work.

Go get 'em, Paul.

4. Kane Returns with a New Mask

18 of 21

We all want this to happen and hope it comes sooner than later.

Only question now is whether returns as a face or heel.

3. A John Cena Heel Turn

19 of 21

Don't we all want this?

I thought Roddy Piper last night was going to cause the change.

It still may happen.

2. Undertaker to Win at WrestleMania and Retire

20 of 21

It would be the right thing to do.

1. CM Punk to Hold the WWE Title for a Year

21 of 21

It would fall in line with the longer title reigns of current champions.

And Punk is good for business.

And the fans love his character.
