NFL Power Rankings: Gauging Which Teams Are Moving Most

Zach KruseNov 28, 2011

In our Week 13 Power Rankings, the following five teams have moved the most from last week:

Chicago Bears (down six spots): I hesitated to drop the Bears last week after news arose that Jay Cutler would be lost for most, if not all, of the regular season. Now that we've seen Caleb Hanie against the Oakland Raiders, it's not unreasonable to think that the Bears could lose their grip over a Wild Card spot in the NFC.

Detroit Lions (down four): The Lions were given the perfect stage on Thanksgiving to show the rest of the league that this team was for real. Instead, Matthew Stafford threw three picks, the Packers raced out to a 21-0 lead and Ndamukong Suh, Detroit's best player, is facing a two-game suspension for what can only be described as an immature and dangerous stomp to a Packers offensive lineman.

Dallas Cowboys (up four): There's something that can be said for a team winning close games, and that's exactly what the Cowboys have been able to do during their current four game winning streak. Thursday's win over the Dolphins was just another example, as Tony Romo played poorly for three quarters but made the plays down the stretch for the Cowboys to win. At 7-4, they control their own destiny in the NFC East.

Baltimore Ravens (up four): The Ravens have had a pretty good couple of weeks. Not only did they knock off the up-and-coming Bengals, but they also then took down the NFC's version of itself in the San Francisco 49ers in a primetime holiday game. The Niners are a tough, smash-mouth team and the Ravens did well against their own brand of football. If they can get over whatever plagues them against middle-of-the-pack teams, the Ravens have a decent chance at going 13-3.

Denver Broncos (up three)

It's not pretty, and it's not conventional, but the Denver Broncos are winning football games under quarterback Tim Tebow. Once again in Week 12, Tebow led them back in the fourth quarter. At 6-5, the Broncos sit just a game back of the Raiders. If the defense continues to play as well as it has in recent weeks, there's no reason to think the Broncos can't get to eight or nine wins.
