LA Lakers Rumors: Adding Dwight Howard Makes LA Title Contender Once More
With the reality that Dwight Howard will most likely not be with the Orlando Magic much longer, the Los Angeles Lakers should be looking to land Superman.
Howard wants a ring and the Magic can't give him that with the roster they have. With it appearing doubtful that they will get Chris Paul or Deron Williams, they will most likely end up trading Howard away for a king's ransom.
Adding Howard would give the Lakers a nice inside-outside combo of Howard and Kobe Bryant. These two would do well together, and the combination of Howard and Pau Gasol inside would be deadly.
Howard is a perfect fit because him and Gasol would mesh well together inside and Kobe can handle the load from outside.
Possibly the biggest reward of this trade would be Howard helping defensively inside.
Howard is a monster who blocks shots with ease. His height, length and excellent timing help him average roughly two-and-a-half rejections per night. Howard would also help clean up the glass as he is one of the best rebounders in the league.
Dwight Howard would make the Lakers an immediate title-contender once again, and this could be the easiest way for Howard to get that ring.
Kobe already has a few rings, and he has proven that he is a winner. The Black Mamba now needs to help Superman get to that level.
While the Lakers would definitely have to trade Andrew Bynum if they are to get Howard, that would be a sacrifice worth making. Howard for Bynum would be a huge improvement as Howard is much healthier and simply a better player.
This trade would help every party involved, and it appears to be a matter of time before Dwight Howard packs up and goes to LA to join the Lakers in search of his first title.
