Adrian Peterson and 5 Injuries NFL Teams Absolutely Cannot Overcome
Adrian Peterson isn't just the centerpiece of the Viking's offense; he is clearly the best back in football, and until his recent injury, was playing the best football of his career, which is saying something.
There are some players that are just too important to their teams to be replaced, and Adrian Peterson leads that list.
Here is a list of other players that are too valuable for their respective teams to overcome.
Nick Mangold, Jets
1 of 5Mangold is not just the best player on the Jets not named Darrelle Revis, he is the league's best offensive lineman. When he was out with an injury earlier in the season, the Jets offense was virtually non-existent, and Mark Sanchez played some of his worst football.
No team is more reliant on their center than the Jets are with Mangold.
Eli Manning, Giants
2 of 5The reality for the Giants this year is that Manning is playing so well that he is erasing a lot of other holes on the team. Their offensive line has not played well, their running game is struggling, and they have had a lot of injuries to receivers.
Still, Manning continues to perform well every week. If the Giants were to lose Manning, everything would collapse in a hurry.
Terrell Suggs, Ravens
3 of 5Suggs may not be on DeMarcus Ware's level in terms of sack numbers, but Suggs is one of the most disruptive players in football. Not only is he a great rusher, but he is a monster in the run game as well. Just as importantly, he plays on all three downs.
For all of the clutch fourth quarter sacks Suggs has made this year, one would have a hard time saying the Ravens would be where they are now without Suggs.
Aaron Rodgers, Packers
4 of 5They have a solid backup in Matt Flynn, but no quarterback is playing as efficiently as Aaron Rodgers is right now.
The Packers rely a lot on back-shoulder and timing throws, something that is hard to replicate with a backup quarterback in the game. the most underrated part of Rodgers' game is his preparation and intelligence pre-snap, which is also near-impossible to replicate.
LeSean McCoy, Eagles
5 of 5The Eagles have proven that they can win games without Michael Vick. That is because of the reality that this offense runs through LeSean McCoy, not Vick and DeSean Jackson.
McCoy has explosiveness that brings extra defenders in the box and opens things up for everyone else. Without LeSean in the lineup, this Eagles offense would be stagnant. Teams are starting to slow down the Philly passing attack with press-man coverage, and McCoy is preventing their passing game from becoming a weakness with his ability as a runner and receiver out of the backfield.
