NFL Week 12 Picks: Teams Whose Playoff Hopes Will Be Crushed

Josh SchochNov 27, 2011

Week 12 of the NFL season brings despair for these teams whose playoff hopes will be dashed. The fight to find their way into the postseason will be lost, and these three teams will be forced to watch from home.

Buffalo Bills

The Buffalo Bills have lost three straight games since starting 5-2, and four of five since their impressive 4-1 start. Riddled with injuries, the Bills looked awful over the last few games, and they will be slaughtered once more today by the New York Jets, ending all hope of reaching the playoffs in Buffalo.

The Jets beat the Bills 27-11 in Buffalo, and now that the game moves to New York, the Jets will win again. The Jets also have a long week to prepare because they played on Thursday last week, and coupling that with home-field advantage, the Jets are destined to win.

The Jets will be able to run all over the Bills, and even Mark Sanchez will look like a Pro Bowler against this awful secondary. With Fred Jackson out, the Bills essentially lose their entire offense, and will just be embarrassed today.

With just the smallest chance of getting into the playoffs, Eagles fans believe their team can win out and possibly grab the division title, despite being 4-6.

Unfortunately for them, they play the New England Patriots today, and the Pats will stamp out any hope from Philadelphia.

This Dream Team has turned into a nightmare, and with a loss today, Eagles fans will begin to think about next season.

The Chargers have been awful this season. Phillip Rivers has a serious problem with interceptions, and he is not playing up to his potential.

The Chargers have lost five straight since starting 4-1, and this week they host the new-look Denver Broncos.

The Chargers struggle against the run, and with Tim Tebow at quarterback, that's a problem. The Broncos run the ball on just about every play now, and they are set to go for 200-300 yards this week.

The Broncos will show us that they are serious playoff contenders in the AFC West this week by beating the Chargers and essentially eliminating them from the playoffs.
