Notre Dame vs. Stanford: Cardinal Will Soar to Victory over Fighting Irish

Josh SchochNov 25, 2011

When the Sanford Cardinal host the Notre Dame Fighting Irish tomorrow night, the Irish don't stand a chance.

Stanford has the fourth-best offense in the country, scoring 45 points per game this season. Heisman candidate Andrew Luck leads one of the best passing attacks in the country, and they couple that with an excellent ground game.

Stanford also plays great defense, allowing fewer than 21 points per game and stopping most teams. They did slip up against Oregon and USC, but the Cardinal will be good enough to stop a shaky Notre Dame offense.

The Fighting Irish have only played against two teams that are currently ranked in the Top 25, beating No. 14 Michigan State but losing to No. 15 Michigan. They also lost to unranked South Florida and USC throughout the season.

Notre Dame hasn't faced a lot of talented teams this season, and they still have three losses. Stanford, on the other hand, have faced much better competition, and they will be ready for this game.

This Stanford team complete outclass this overrated Notre Dame team, and they will show that on the field tomorrow night.

Andrew Luck will be able to pick apart this Notre Dame defense like we all picked apart our turkeys last night. He will solidify his Heisman victory with one more big game, and the Fighting Irish will give him that chance, as their defense is not capable of stopping such a good offense.

This game is not even going to be close. Luck and the Stanford offense will slowly but surely pile on the points against Notre Dame, exposing the Irish for the overrated team that they are.

Stanford's defense will also be able to stop a Notre Dame attack that other teams could not, and this game will be decided by more than 20 points.

My final prediction: Stanford 38, Notre Dame 13
