NFL Week 12 Picks: Road Teams That Will Roll to Victory

Michael DixonNov 25, 2011

Home-field advantage goes a long way in football. But if you're a vastly inferior team, it's not going to help.

All of these teams are just much better than their opponents. By the time their games finish on Sunday, the results will prove that.

The NFL schedule gods appear to have been nice to the Texans. While this will be their first game without the services of Matt Schaub, they get the Jaguars. That's a pretty good way to ease into Matt Leinart.

Even without Schaub and on the road, Houston is just a better team. Their defense is one of the best units in the league, their running attack is elite and it seems likely that Andre Johnson will be back on the field.

The loss of Schaub certainly hurts their Super Bowl chances, but don't expect that to show this week, not in the form of a loss, anyway.

While I do feel that the Eagles will show their talent at some point this season, this is not the week to look for that.

To do that, they will likely need to win a shootout. As good as Vince Young was on Sunday night, I don't like his chances in a shootout vs. the New England offense.

Tom Brady has an elite group of weapons. Wes Welker and Rob Gronkowski may get most of the looks, but that's a deep group of receivers.

The Patriots will be too much, even in front of Philly's tough crowd.

The Steelers have been a consistent team this season. Their only losses have been against the Ravens (twice) and the Texans.

The Chiefs have been a team of streaks, but they are out of gas. Now, with Matt Cassel out, a bad situation got worse.

With him, I am not sure that the Chiefs would win a single game this year. Without him, it looks quite bad.

They may win a game, but not on Sunday against the Steelers. This one will be ugly.
