Tito Ortiz and 5 Fighters Who Are Too Overconfident

G DNov 25, 2011

Over the past several years, the Ultimate Fighting Championship has transformed themselves into one of the world's fastest growing organizations.

The UFC provides viewers and fans with some of the greatest entertainment known to man along with a variety of different fighter personalities.

As expected, the UFC is filled with down-to-earth guys, those who stay away from the media, and of course, those who are overconfident.

These specific fighters may be talented in many aspects of mixed martial arts but their heads are simply too big.

So, the following slides display the five UFC fighters who are too overconfident.

Let's take a look.

Chael Sonnen

1 of 5

Chael Sonnen is most recognized for his domination over Anderson Silva at UFC 117 despite being submitted in the fifth and final round.

Despite the loss, Sonnen has spread his thoughts and comments worldwide to the point that he's become too overconfident.

And, while Sonnen may have exposed the UFC middleweight champion in a way fans have never seen before, he still came up short when all was said and done.

Sonnen may very well be the most overconfident fighter in the UFC today.

Tito Ortiz

2 of 5

At one point in his career, Tito Ortiz was considered to be one of the best 205-pound fighters in the entire sport of mixed martial arts.

Ortiz was also overconfident, but many turned their shoulders to it due to his ability to back it up.

However, thing's haven't been smooth sailing for Ortiz as of late as he's won just one fight in his last seven appearances.

Despite being on the down slope of his career, the Huntington Beach Bad Boy continues to call out every man in the book.

Melvin Guillard

3 of 5

Melvin Guillard is the perfect example of a fighter who enters the Octagon too overconfident only to have his tail beaten when it counts.

Guillard was seen taunting Lauzon seconds into Round 1 at UFC 136 as many believed him to be just one fight away from a lightweight title shot.

However, Guillard's overconfidence proved to be a factor as he was submitted before one minute ticked off the clock.

Josh Koscheck

4 of 5

It's hard to deny just how much heart Josh Koscheck has as he is one of the most fearless fighters in the UFC today.

However, Koscheck is at times a little too overconfident as well.

Koscheck's perfect moment of being too overconfident came when he stated he would beat UFC welterweight champion, Georges St-Pierre.

Michael Bisping

5 of 5

Not only is Michael Bisping arguably the cockiest fighter in the entire sport of mixed martial arts, but one of the most overconfident as well.

And, according to Bisping's track record, he has no reason to be overconfident as he's lost every main bout he was a part of.

Bisping is the front-runner for UFC fighters who are too overconfident.
