Arkansas vs. LSU: Tigers Guarantee a Black Friday for Razorbacks

Gabe ZaldivarNov 25, 2011

While many of you are in stores, wishing for death, be happy that you don't wear an Arkansas Razorbacks jersey today. It will indeed be a Black Friday for this surging program.

I love a good story. What I hate is a sad and bitter end to such things. That is what college football fans will be dealt on Friday, in an epic clash that is almost as good as those leftovers on my plate.

There are couple of certainties that I can guarantee in the best thing to watch on TV Friday. For one, it will be a great game that features one prolific offense attempting to defy a stout defense. The second comes as a pall on the holiday weekend for Arkansas fans. Simply, Arkansas will lose.

You can say goodbye to the hope of a BCS Championship, as LSU once again will beat a solid team making their claim at the top all the stronger.

Intangibles

First, let's talk about something that is thrown around far too often in sports, but is very important in a game like this. We forget that these are just a bunch of young dudes with an immense amount of pressure on them.

College football is just as much about who will fall first as it is who will succeed. I may love LSU's talent, but I love their poise more this season. They are by far the most battle-tested and battle-approved team in the nation. Les Miles touches upon this with reporters

"

"This is a game that we really look forward to. It is a game of significance unlike other similar games we have played this year. Our guys are poised to play a game of significance and [for] an opportunity to achieve all the things they want to achieve."

"

From Oregon to Alabama, LSU has proved they are prepared to go out and play the best they can and worry about the rest later. They are the most seasoned team in the nation, and it shows.

Tangibles

Consider that LSU has not given up a touchdown to either of its last two SEC opponents. Now consider that one of those teams was Alabama, and you can see the defense we are talking about.

Cornerback Ron Brooks is coming off an SEC Defensive Player of the Week performance, and LSU continues to be one of the deepest teams on that side of the ball.

Arkansas may have a great aerial attack, but I will take a stout defense over offensive fluff anytime. This is going to be a great game with a boring ending. I say that because we saw this coming from a mile away. LSU wins.
