NFL Week 12 Waiver Wire Pickups: Santana Moss and Players You Must Avoid
It’s easy to get caught up in either a story about a returning player from an injury who people may have given up on. It’s also easy to waste a roster spot on a waiver claim for a player that had one big game. It’s why a player like Washington Redskins receiver Santana Moss is someone who you have to avoid at all costs.
Moss is coming back from from a hand injury that has kept him out of action since Week 8. In that time, this Redskins offense has gone from mediocre to bad to horrible. With Moss back, they a legit deep threat in their passing game.

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
However, what Moss is returning to is a team that has no identity in the running game, nor a quarterback to get Moss the ball.
A lot of fantasy owners dropped Moss when he went down with his hand injury, as he is only owned in 51 percent of Yahoo! fantasy football leagues. You should not give him a spot on your roster as he will disappoint you.
Just like Moss, you should avoid Buffalo Bills running back C.J. Spiller.
Spiller is the new starting running back in Buffalo since Fred Jackson broke his leg last week. He will be a big part of this offense just like Jackson was. However, Jackson was a potential league MVP, a running back who would run in between the tackles, whereas Spiller is more of a speed back who likes to go to the outside.
That, plus the fact that the Buffalo offensive line is being held together with spit and glue, should give you enough reason to stay away from Spiller.
He will have a lot of touches, but it will just result in low yard totals and headaches for you.
Stay away from Moss, Spiller and San Francisco 49ers quarterback Alex Smith.
Smith has played well for the 49ers this year. However, he has not played at the level that should merit a roster spot on your fantasy team.
In three of his last five games, Smith has point totals of 7,13 and 12. Those are awful numbers that will crush your chances at getting a crucial late season win. You have to stay away from Smith, even with games coming up against NFC West division opponents.
With the fantasy football season coming to an end you have to make smart decisions. Stay away from these three players as they will do nothing for your team.
