Reggie Bush: Dolphins Star Proving He Can Be a No. 1 Running Back

Nicholas GossNov 24, 2011

Reggie Bush is becoming a reliable starting running back in his first season with the Miami Dolphins and is having fun proving his critics wrong.

If you took a chance drafting Bush in your fantasy football league, you have been rewarded this season. Bush has averaged 94.75 total yards and a touchdown the past four weeks, and his play has been a huge reason for the Dolphins' current three game winning streak.

Bush has had plenty of critics since he was drafted with the No. 2 overall pick by the New Orleans Saints in the 2005 NFL draft. People have called Bush overrated, not an every-down back and have doubted his ability to be a major star.

Bush has fed of these critics this season, and since taking the bulk of the rushing burden after Daniel Thomas got hurt, he has been a reliable performer for Miami. Not only has Bush found success in the running game this season, he has continued to be effective in the receiving game.

Bush is one of the most electrifying players in the NFL, and he has the ability to make a big play every time he touches the football. The last few weeks have proven that Bush can be a dependable running back that is durable enough to remain healthy enough to help his team.

The Dolphins are better than their 3-7 record would indicate, and as the team builds a winner again, Bush will be a major part of their success going forward.
