Fantasy Football Week 12: 6 Players to Either Crash or Burn
Ah!!! It's Thanksgiving, and there is a lot to be thankful for.
For me, it's always been about the three F's—Family, Food and Football. Definitely the football.
To the fantasy football players, time to set your rosters early (I just finished setting mine). Who do you play?
Well, we all know the usual suspects, such as Aaron Rodgers, Calvin Johnson, Matt Forte, etc., I know that you're going to play them—I would.
But what about the other guys? The guys you think might make an impact but you're not sure of.
Allow me to help you. This is my crash and burn list.
What fantasy players will crash the party and which ones will burn your chances at winning this week?
Crash: Tim Tebow
1 of 7His game isn't pretty, but it's effective—especially for fantasy points.
He is always going to give you 100 yards passing, which doesn't do much in most leagues.
What he brings to the table is rushing yards.
Against San Diego this week, look for at least 70 yards on the ground and one touchdown.
Burn: Joe Flacco
2 of 7This week, the 49ers bring their top-notch defense to Baltimore, and I believe they will silence Flacco, who didn't play up to his potential versus the Seahawks, as he had 270 yards but one interception and one fumble.
I think that he will struggle in consecutive weeks since defeating the Steelers.
Crash: Reggie Bush
3 of 7The Dolphins have won three straight, and Bush has four touchdowns in those games.
I know that the D in Dallas is stifling, but it's the end zone that counts, and with Matt Moore playing better, the goal line will come calling for Reggie Bush.
I see him scoring at least once. Maybe twice.
Burn: Toby Gerhart
4 of 7Perfect for short-yardage situations but not for 20 carries a game.
Also, with Christian Ponder the starting QB, we're going to see a lot of Gerhart in the Atlanta game.
I smell disaster burning—18 carries for maybe 50 yards.
Crash: Jabar Gafney
5 of 7Jabar Gaffney is quietly having a solid season.
The key to his success is quarterback Rex Grossman.
If Grossman plays well, Gaffney puts up big numbers.
After scorching Dallas for 117 yards and a touchdown, Seattle is next, and I see 85 yards and two touchdowns.
Burn: Greg Jennings
6 of 7Surprisingly burning up your team this week will be WR Greg Jennings.
I like Aaron Rodgers this week, but I don't see Jennings getting the bulk of the looks.
The looks are going to go to Jermichael Finley and Jordy Nelson up the middle versus Detroit, and that will take away from Jennings' stats.
He will have a solid game but not the usual Greg Jennings game.
Honorable Mentions for Crashing the Party
7 of 7Also look for quarterbacks Matt Ryan and Matt Hasselbeck to have good games, and watch for a surprising performance from the Bears' Caleb Hanie.
If you have Earl Bennett or Torey Smith, play them.
And watch for Tashard Choice to see the field versus the Jets.
Avoid Shonn Greene at all costs.
