Arkansas vs. LSU: Razorbacks' Magical Run Will End with Loss to LSU
Gosh, it has really been nice knowing you, but the time for you to exit the National Title scene has come. Sorry, Arkansas.
We get a real treat on Friday when the No. 3 Arkansas Razorbacks travel to play the No. 1 LSU Tigers. With a win, Arkansas will no doubt get a seat at the table for the BCS Championship Game discussion.
With a loss, the amazing season comes crashing down as Arkansas would settle for a lesser bowl and see the presumed rematch featuring Alabama take place with LSU instead.
I really wish I saw a treat of an upset in all of our futures. As much as we whine about it, the BCS is far more interesting when there is a heaping amount of tumult involved.
LSU is primed to make things as dull as they can be, as they deliver yet another convincing win over a top-shelf team.
This will be one prolific offense against one of the stingiest defenses in the nation. The possibility of an upset is there, I just can't buy that it will happen.
LSU is by far the most battle-tested team in the nation. They have taken down other would-be offensive powers, and have also dealt with a defense that is just as good if not better than theirs.
They have seen the best the nation has to offer and have come through unscathed on the other end. This fact alone has me confident that the perfect Tigers season will continue a little while longer.
The other point is that we have seen what Arkansas can do against a defense like this. They met Alabama early in the season in what turned out to be a laugher. The Crimson Tide proved Arkansas was good, but not in the same realm of the top two teams in the nation.
The obvious notion this season has been that there is LSU, Alabama and everyone else. Every single game so far has proved that to be true.
On Friday, we get the closing arguments that prove LSU is simply better than the rest.
