49ers vs. Ravens: Harbaugh Brothers Expected to Shake Hands and Hug After Game

Jeff GrantNov 23, 2011

San Francisco 49ers head coach Jim Harbaugh certainly made some noise with his postgame antics following a 25-19 victory over the Detroit Lions in Week 6, causing Jim Schwartz to chase after him inside Ford Field.

The first-year coach will now lead his 9-1 football team into M&T Bank Stadium against the Baltimore Ravens, facing off against his brother to close out the Thanksgiving Day festivities on the NFL Network.

John Harbaugh has done a fantastic job leading the Ravens in his four years on the sidelines, entering the 2011 campaign with an overall record of 36-19 (including playoffs).

Oddsmakers are looking to cash in on Thursday night's finale, offering up ways to bet on the potential embrace at the end of the game.

Let's take a closer look at the five offerings available at BoDog for this entertaining proposition wager.

High Five Only

1 of 5

I highly doubt that Jim and John Harbaugh will close out this battle by exchanging a high five on the 50-yard line.

Bettors will be aiming high for this one to come in.

Odds: +2,500

Will Not Make Contact

2 of 5

I wouldn't write off this offering for the simple fact that I could easily see both wave to each other and walk off the field.

It's certainly an awkward situation, and any family celebration of the event may occur afterwards, when the cameras are off.

I could also see the two spending time with each other before the game and then going their separate ways when the final seconds run off the clock.

Odds: +500

Hug Only

3 of 5

Due to the favored option in this proposition wager, I don't see the brothers simply hugging it out.

It's not going to happen after a 60-minute football game.

Odds: +350

Shake Hands Only

4 of 5

The clear second choice and for good reason, as it's the most common thing for NFL head coaches to do following a game.

Can't go wrong here.

Odds: +125

Shake Hands and Hug

5 of 5

Sometimes you have to lay a little chalk in order to make some money in this game, which is why I'm electing to play this favored option.

I see the final act playing out with the winning brother extending his hand, followed by a hugging one-armed embrace around the shoulder.

A lovely way to end a day of football.

Odds: -125
