UEFA Champions League: David Silva, Players Who Will Propel Team into Last 16

Everyone wants to reach the final stages of the UEFA Champions League; these players are the ones who can make that happen for their team.

The Champions League has reached a crucial stage and several teams need to step up their performance if they want to ensure they qualify for the last 16.  

These men are the players who will ensure their team does enough to get through.

David Silva

David Silva is proving to be one of the best players in the Premier League at the moment.  His confidence and skill on the ball is unbelievable, but that isn't all.

As this video shows, Silva also has the ability to find a huge amount of space just when it is most needed.  

With Silva on the team, Manchester City will win their final game, and if things go well elsewhere, they will progress into the last 16.

Wayne Rooney

Wayne Rooney is a key man for Manchester United, and it looks like they need a special performance from him if they are to secure their place in the last 16 of the Champions League.

This picture reminds us what Rooney can do.  When he steps out onto the field for United's final group match in Switzerland, you can be sure to expect something special.

Eden Hazard

To qualify for the last 16 of the Champions League, Lille are going to have to beat Trabzonspor at home in their final group game.

To do that, they will need a couple of key players to step up and perform.  One of those men is Eden Hazard.  

The Belgian midfielder is a player who has been linked with a move away from France, and he will not disappoint in the Champions League.  His performance will help get Lille through to the last 16.

Hulk

Brazilian Hulk is an essential part of the Porto set up; he was the main man in their Europa League victory last year.

With a win needed in their final group game to qualify for the last 16 of the Champions League, Porto will turn to their incredible striker.

A good performance from the Brazilian will send Porto through to the business end of the Champions League.

Joe Hart

With Manchester City needing a result against Bayern Munich to qualify, a clean sheet is a must.  The man who can provide that is Joe Hart.

City will still need to wait on results elsewhere, but with Joe Hart playing well, City should be able to take care of their own business and beat Bayern at the Etihad Stadium.

Joe Cole

Joe Cole is another Lille midfielder who will see them through to the last 16 of the Champions League.

The creative midfielder is on loan from Liverpool, and has the ability to create chances from nothing.

Like Hazard, Cole will help Lille put in a special performance and create enough to defeat Tabzonspor and progress into the last 16.

Nemanja Vidic

Nemanja Vidic is the rock at the heart of Manchester United's defence.  The first thought for many, when they think about Manchester United, is the attacking players they have.

But to get through to the last 16 of the Champions League, they will need a solid defence.

The problem with United has not been scoring; they have scored plenty of goals.  The problem is they have been conceding as well.  

Vidic will put in a real captain's performance and ensure Basel don't repeat their three goal performance from earlier in the group.  

With Vidic at the back, Manchester United will qualify for the last 16.
