January is just around the corner and Bleacher Report will soon be full of transfer-related articles.

Some people hate the January transfer window. Those include most managers and most chairmen.

But there are those who love it, as it gives us a second chance to speculate intensely over what might happen. Those people are usually fans all over the country and those players who wish to play their get out jail free card.

Here are 7 players who would make a serious impact on the English Premier League should they be signed by an English team—be it now or in the future!

Thiago Silva

Thiago Silva, a formidable Brazilian centre-back currently playing for AC Milan, would be an unbelievable addition to any team in the Premier League.

Rated by many as one of best central defensive players in the world, his solidity and strength would be welcome especially at Manchester City—a team who have reportedly shown interest in him and need a centre-back.

He'd also cost the earth and a little bit more, meaning only a select few teams could afford him...should they be able to prise him away from AC Milan.

Modibo Maiga

Someone we may see grace the English Premier League very soon is Modibo Maiga.

A striker for FC Sochaux and local rebel, Maiga looks set to complete a move to Newcastled United this January after it fell through this summer.

Let's hope Alan Pardew can control him though, after he went on strike when the initial deal fell through. 

He is a talented striker though who knows where the net is. We all love goals!

Marek Hamsik

Marek Hamsik is almost a world-class superstar. What's missing?

He doesn't belong to a European powerhouse club—yet.

Plenty of interest continues to surround the Slovakian playmaker, and so far he has shunned it to stay with Napoli.

A move will come along soon though, and you can bet he'll be expensive.

Mats Hummels

Another fantastic centre-back that isn't unattainable is Mats Hummels.

He's a rock at the back for Borussia Dortmund and while they may be reigning German champions, the lure of a top English club could be too much of a temptation.

Ask any clued up fan who the best young centre-back in Europe is and Mats Hummels' name will crop up a lot.

He is soon to be very much in demand. 

Papiss Cisse

Papiss Cisse is a man who was reported to be close to a move to Blackburn Rovers in the summer, but it never came to fruition.

He propelled an average Freiburg side into the Bundesliga and kept them there, scoring bucket loads on his way to recognition.

He's still there but he won't be for long. A quality striker is worth his weight in gold, and this guy knows how to score.

Jordi Alba

Thanks to Barcelona and Real Madrid, a significant majority of the Spanish national players ply their trade in La Liga.

Spain is the one nation that is under-represented in the English Premier League and although we see the talents of Jose Enrique, Fernando Torres and David Silva, you can't but feel a little short changed.

Jordi Alba is playing for Valencia right now and would be a quality addition to a top side at left-back. If he fancies a challenge in the English Premier League, there'd be tonnes of clubs willing to pay up.

Eden Hazard

The race is on!

Eden Hazard has declared he wants to move on from Lille!

Who will land him? He is sure to be January's biggest story as multiple clubs are vying for the 20-year-old Belgian starlet.

Chelsea, Manchester City, Arsenal and Real Madrid amongst others will be on the chase for him. Lille will struggle to keep him and should be reluctant to sell, although they will be handsomely compensated.
