WWE Smackdown Spoiler: Big Mistakes Being Made in the World Title Picture

Justin WatryNov 23, 2011

Let me put up a few notes first:

1. Mark Henry is NEVER, ever losing the World title!

2. I am a Daniel Bryan fan. Certainly no super fan, but he has potential...

3. I have been very consistent with this topic, just as I have been with Dolph Ziggler wrestling twice on PPV. I didn't like it before, and I still do not.

According to this Smackdown spoiler report, Daniel Bryan once again teased cashing in his briefcase on the World Heavyweight Champion. Not only that, but he got a "win," before it was reversed moments later by Teddy Long.

Bryan still has his briefcase. Henry is still the World Champion.

Last I checked, Daniel Bryan was a face. I could be wrong, but he sure seems like a genuine, nice, clean cut "good guy" for the Blue Brand.

His proclamation of cashing in at WrestleMania 28 is exactly what a face should say. It was the perfect scenario for Bryan. He stays true to word at being the "best" and keeps his dignity and fighting spirit by only wanting to face a man one on one with no shortcuts.

Again, it is the perfect choice for the man. He is honorable and a great guy!

Sadly, he seems to be falling into the same trap we have seen many times from former Money in the Bank winners. Cash in a weakened opponent and get a "fluke" win for the World title.

Sure does not sound like the noble Daniel Bryan we all know and love?

His recent teases have been downright terrible for his character. I cannot stress that enough. WWE made a big mistake a few weeks ago with Bryan about to cash in on Henry. Not only that, but The Big Show was pushing him to do it...

Just terrible! I am the most positive man alive, but this is just not good at all.

As if him teasing a cash in this week was not bad enough, guess what what happens in the main event?

He wins a #1 Contenders Match to face Mark Henry this Tuesday on the live Smackdown special for the World title in a steel cage match. Wow, talk about a mess.

Yes, Henry will beat him next Tuesday. Yes, Bryan will come out of this match looking good, but it is not doing any favors to his character. His "nobel" cash in at WrestleMania is really being flushed down the toilet the past few weeks.

I am almost in shock how many times Bryan has been around the World title as of late. Smackdown has been such a good show lately, but I can't approve of his use the past month.

I have said it once. Actually, I have said it many times. Keep him away from the World title scene until WrestleMania time!

Beat some mid carders for the next month or so. Give some heartfelt promos leading into the new year about warming up for the big event on April 1st, 2012. Talk about his long journey and how amazing it will be to "main event" the biggest show of the year.

No. He will hang around the title scene for awhile. Get beat by Henry a bunch of times, before cashing in. No big "David vs. Goliath" build because we have seen it constantly on WWE TV the past month. It will no longer be special come Mania.

Of course, there is one silver lining in all of this. If he is turning heel, then I change my mind and approve of his "booking." However, anything that involves him staying a face makes this entire situation a big mistake!
