WWE Survivor Series 2011 Results: Cena Needs Image Change Before WrestleMania
Something struck me in the aftermath following an epic Survivor Series, and that's the WWE needs to change John Cena's image or we are in store for one awkward finish to WrestleMania.
Let's get the obvious out of the way right off the bat. Everyone hates John Cena. Except for mainstream fans and those precious few that don't boo him at every turn, his I'm so charming and such a nice bloke act is running thin on everyone.
The other obvious note is how The Rock is received. He could come in and start slapping fans in the face and he would still be applauded when his exhibition was done. There is nothing he can do to warrant the fans booing him, especially at WrestleMania in Miami of all places.

Most Likely Backlash Heel/Face Turns 🎭
So what the hell are we expecting to happen in a few months? The outcome has to be The Rock defeating John Cena which is inconceivable when you consider that Rock would be in front of a stadium cheering his name.
The fact that Cena is the least likely to ever turn heel means that he has to be walking into the ring as a sacrificial lamb.
Under normal circumstances, a face like Cena would be guaranteed to beat a part-timer. As we all know, this is not just any part timer. It's the people's champion.
Cena is the brand and to have him take down one of the most coveted wrestlers of all time amidst boos would force WWE to change Cena's image. There is no way he would win fans back after that.
So my question is: what changes? Do we see The Rock change and become a villain that must be taken down? No way. That is a laughable scenario, so a bout between two nice guys has to feature a heel.
Cena is clearly not the beloved wrestler his smiling face states. His time to turn has come. If not, we are destined to watch an epic bout with a finish that has us all scratching our heads and shouting, "well, that didn't make a lick of sense."
