Dolph Ziggler: A Perfect Example of How the WWE Should Create a Main Event Heel

TJ NagyNov 22, 2011

Dolph Ziggler is the new face of the WWE.

Okay, maybe not just yet, but he might be the new top heel, and if his push continues in the right direction, he'll be a guaranteed main event mainstay as early as WrestleMania.

Sure, he got a small taste of success after winning the World Heavyweight Title for about 15 seconds on SmackDown several months ago, but that was just the beginning. This current push is for real, and this current push will be 100 percent successful.

The reason for this inevitable success is quite simple: the WWE has created the perfect heel in Dolph Ziggler. He's cocky, athletic and a champion. He wins clean but knows how and when to cheat, he's got the most hated manager around and his mic skills are the most underrated in the WWE today.

Plus, he's getting better at these things all the time. If you really want to see perfection, then just wait and see where Ziggler will be six months from now.

And let's not forget that he has now wrestled in two matches at two consecutive PPV events. It's giving Ziggler the introduction he properly deserves as he marches into the big time, without feeling like their shoving him down our throats.

If only the WWE did this with their talent on a regular basis. If they waited for their guys to grow naturally with their talents like Ziggler has done, they wouldn't be stuck with a bunch of one-and-done guys right now.

But when it comes to Ziggler, the WWE is doing everything right. He's held the U.S. title longer than most people expected, bringing back some much needed respect to that division. He's pretty damn good at being the champion too. Clean wins, good promos—it's all there, and it's all excellent.

Unlike some recent top heels, he didn't need a briefcase to make all this happen. He's been built up slow, yet effectively, proving that this old-school way of doing things actually still works if you have the right person.

Now, after a solid year-and-a-half of waiting and some fantastic matches (including last night on Raw), Ziggler's reign is finally almost upon us. We all know that Zack Ryder is our next U.S. Champ, and after that is all over and done with, Ziggler can finally move on to the main event, where he undoubtibly belongs.

Dolph Ziggler may not be the new face of the WWE just yet, but get to know him well, because in a few months he'll will be.

The classic WWE heel has returned.
