WWE Raw Results: Top 10 Moments from Last Night's Show

Justin WatryNov 22, 2011

WWE Raw was great last night. It was not as eventful as Survivor Series, but it was entertaining nonetheless. The program had been a little back and forth as of late, but I really enjoyed the show Monday night.

I did not care for a few segments, but nothing can change how amazing this episode was. With that being said, let's get to the best (and worst) moments...

10. Not Again, WWE

1 of 10

Where was Brodus Clay? Where was Jonah Hill?

I like Brodus Clay, but WWE needs to stop falsely promoting him.

I do not like Jonah Hill, but WWE needed to deliver him on Raw.

It is just a pet peeve of mine. Deliver what you advertise, whether it is entertaining or not...

9. Kane Is Returning

2 of 10

I do not care if he returns with the mask or not.

I think many fans are just assuming the mask will make some big impact on his character or something. Maybe they think he will be a "monster" again.

Well, it won't matter. Nothing will change, mask or no mask. Thus, I really do not care how Kane looks when he returns. He is a great talent and may be on his final run...

8. It Begins 1/2/12

3 of 10

I loved this.

WWE is using their social media platforms perfectly. Many missed it, but WWE advertising this video on a YouTube page with the following video playing.

The only clues were that the voice mentioned a "familiar force," meaning we know this person. It is not somebody new appearing. The other clue is the No. 43 was listed, as maybe the age of the individual returning to WWE.

Great teaser that pointed to Monday, January 2nd, 2012...Undertaker? Jericho? Batista?

7. Sheamus Is the Man

4 of 10

Sheamus beat Jack Swagger in a fun match. It was an extended squash match, but that did not matter.

Both are very talented, but the focus is on Sheamus for now. He looks like a star and Swagger more than held his own. Nice little contest!

6. Barrett and Orton Continue

5 of 10

Wade Barrett is on a roll. Randy Orton is one of the top performers in the company.

It makes perfect sense to keep these two together. One man is a clear-cut heel, while the other is a face. There are no hidden catchphrases or insider references. Just a great feud!

5. Cody Rhodes and Booker T?

6 of 10

It looks like Cody Rhodes is going to feud with Booker T next. I am fine with that. Both are very capable inside the ring, and one needs a few big wins.

This is the exact match Cody needs right now. All he needs to do for the next few months is win. That is all—win matches. Booker T is the perfect man to go against...

4. Next Week

7 of 10

This was a wonderful idea.

WWE needs to do this more often (and actually follow through with it): Advertise a big match for the following week. I really do not like it when Raws have nothing announced. Nothing teased. Nothing promoted.

Next week will be CM Punk vs. Alberto Del Rio for the WWE Championship live on Monday Night Raw. Sounds good to me...

3. Punk vs. Dolph

8 of 10

What a match!

I will try to forget the mishap towards the end and just focus on the great action.

These two know how to put on a contest for fans all over the world to enjoy. Dolph Ziggler continues his great run, and Punk had another great performance.

Of course, the outcome was never in doubt, but that did not matter. Both men had an amazing match and it may have been the best match on Raw all year. Job well done.

2. Used Perfectly

9 of 10

I am not one to "fantasy book," but I really enjoyed how a few guys were used last night.

Kevin Nash and The Big Show both cut promos. Short, sweet and to the point—awesome job.

Zack Ryder got some shine, but lost to the better performer in Del Rio. Great usage of both men.

John Cena had some choice words for The Rock. He said his piece, and then left the picture. There was nothing left to say, and it did not drag on. Wonderful use of Cena.

Again, I just loved how some of the WWE superstars were used on Raw last night. Great job, WWE. Only one moment could top the night though...

1. R-Truth Just Got GOT

10 of 10

What an ending to WWE Raw! This was great booking.

You want to know why the Awesome Truth was booked weakly the past few weeks? Now you know.

Once again, patience pays off. There is no sense in jumping all over something week after week. The big picture will be revealed in due time. Tonight, we got the payoff.

The Miz turned on R-Truth to close Raw, and I loved it. These two were never going to last long as a tag team, so the break-up was inevitable.

It sure looked like The Miz was playing the heel here, which makes sense. Truth was getting over as a face with the crowd, thanks to his "Little Jimmy" talk lately. Also, notice The Miz hit Truth first.

That is a major detail that needs highlighting: Miz struck Truth first. That way, Truth is justified in attacking back. Think back to Alex Riley turning face...

Great ending to Raw. It will be interesting to see where these two go from here (and Cena). Tonight, the truth hurt, but it was awesome!
