WWE News: CM Punk Rips the Rock's Absence, Attitude

It seems like every CM Punk article needs to begin with that.

Anyway, the new WWE champion had a few choice words for The Rock. New York Daily News columnist Ebenezer Samuel wrpte a brief article with CM Punk regarding Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson. Punk was asked about The Rock's return to the WWE. Punk responded:

"You know, the thing about that is, he's not around. He's not around. It doesn't help morale when the guy goes right from his limo to the dressing room to the dressing room to the ring. He's very bourgeois Hollywood."

Going a bit further on The Rock's "return," Punk noted:

"

"He came back, he did WWE Raw after that. He said he was never gonna leave. And the next time we saw him is a month later. Yeah, it does bother me. A little hello would have been nice. He could have run by with his own entourage."

Ouch. Well, the best line of the article is saved for last. Punk was asked if The Rock was "a Diva."  The Second City Saint response?

"

"I can't say that. At least the WWE Divas say hi to me in the halls."

This isn't the first time Punk has ripped on Johnson. During the build up to Money in The Bank and SummerSlam, Punk repeatedly harped on Johnson as an "ass kisser" and indirectly ripped on The Rock by saying, "Dwayne was in the main event at WrestleMania," and Punk not being in it himself "made him sick."

WrestleZone noted a rumor that in Raw's Creative meeting before the show, Vince McMahon spent a long while talking about The Rock's star power and how they needed to "promote heavily" the new WWE Champion CM Punk.

According to the same report, some of the talent apparently wondered if they were angling for a Punk/Rock match down the line.  As far as whether the comments were genuine or kayfabe, one wrestler apparently noted to WrestleZone:

"Punk is Punk. He's not kidding when he says that what you see is what you get. He doesn't sweat anyone."
