Jay Cutler Engaged: Bears Star's Relationship Status as Iffy as Playing Status

Thanks to his broken right thumb, Chicago Bears quarterback Jay Cutler could barely throw the football towards the end of Sunday's 31-20 win over the San Diego Chargers. Things are not going to get much better for Cutler in the weeks to come, as a report from ESPN claims his status for the remainder of the regular season is iffy.

In other news, Cutler's personal life is also in something of a gray area at the moment. A Monday report from Life & Style claimed he had gotten re-engaged to reality TV star Kristin Cavallari, but now there's a report out from Access Hollywood that claims the first report is not true.

Of the two, the second report is more believable, primarily because it features a quote from Cavallari herself.

“Not true,” said the Dancing with the Stars, um, star. She then added, “I’d be wearing my ring if that was the case."

If you're just now tuning in, this is kinda par for the course as far as Cutler's and Cavallari's relationship goes. The two got engaged to be married in the summer of 2012, but Cutler called the wedding off this past July. Supposedly, he was upset at having to take a back seat to Cavallari's career.

However, this breakup did not last long. Cutler was spotted in attendance watching Cavallari perform on Dancing with the Stars back in October, and things more or less snowballed from there.

The question in recent weeks was how long it would take for the two to re-ignite their engagement. If we're being honest, Monday's initial report that their engagement was back on did not come as much of a surprise.

Oh well. I guess you can't take anything for granted with this duo. They'll get engaged when they're good and ready, and not a moment sooner.

Once they do, we'll probably be safe in assuming they'll follow through with it. After all, they wouldn't call off their engagement twice, right?
