WWE Survivor Series 2011 Results: WWE Makes It Clear Zack Ryder Is Next US Champ

A rule of thumb in the wrestling business is to leave the champion as the last man standing in the ring after a match.

With Zack Ryder clearing Dolph Ziggler from the ring after Ziggler defended his US title against John Morrison at Survivor Series, it shows that the WWE is ready to give Ryder the run he deserves.

The WWE has put over Ryder for the past several weeks, booking him to win non-title match after non-title match. That’s the company’s way of testing the waters to see how the crowd reacts.

Judging from how New York City responded to Ryder last night, I’d say we're not far from a Ryder reign.

That’s not to say Dolph Ziggler goes away from the gold for too long, though. Far from it.

I think the feud between Zack Ryder and Ziggler would be the hottest thing the WWE could have going right now. That’s the kind of feud that people can get behind.

Both men are charismatic, and for a change, there is an actual back story to what could be a lengthy feud.

Ziggler and Ryder have been feuding online via twitter and on Ryder’s YouTube show. It’s about time the WWE finally opened their eyes to what’s so obviously a great idea.

The greatest part of this possible feud is that the fans helped create it. If it wasn’t for the success of Ryder’s show, Ziggler and Ryder would have never gotten over the way they have so far.

Both wrestlers are great on their own, but a feud involving both, with Zack Ryder holding the US title could be one for the ages.

I’m thinking Shawn Michaels vs. Razor Ramon.
