Jerry Sandusky: Students Should Be Ashamed for Bullying Alleged Victim

Eric BowmanNov 21, 2011

The Jerry Sandusky scandal at Penn State has outraged a lot of people, but those who shouldn't be receiving criticism are the alleged victims. Anyone who brings hate upon them should be shunned for their disgraceful and despicable actions.

The alleged victims have been lost in the mess at Penn State, but recent news shows that one has become a target for school bullying, and that is just wrong. These kids were very brave to tell their story about Sandusky, and nobody should be tearing them down.

Sara Ganim of The Patriot-News  reported that Victim One was forced to leave during his senior year of high school because his peers were harassing him.

Sandusky was arrested on 40 counts for allegedly molesting young boys, some of which he met through his charity, Second Mile. Victim One has hidden in the shadows, but he chose to speak up against Sandusky, and it led to other alleged victims stepping forward.

Now, he is being preyed upon by students at school. They blamed the 17-year-old for the firing of Joe Paterno, which is absolutely ludicrous.

Whoever believes that Victim One is at fault for anything needs a stern talking to. They are clearly blind to the truth and/or messed up in the head to think that this alleged victim is the reason a man lost his job.

How the administrators at Central Mountain High School in Clinton County didn't protect this boy better is beyond belief. If students knew that he is Victim One of the 23-page grand jury report, then surely school officials knew as well, and they should have prevented this type of behavior.

Dishing out verbal threats to someone who has already endured so much pain and suffering from this ordeal is downright pathetic. Those who were bullying Victim One should know better, but apparently they weren't raised very well.

Yes, kids will be kids, but this is outrageous. Victim One didn't do anything to deserve this, and now he has to leave school, which publicly humiliates all those involved.

Nobody in their right mind should have anything negative to say towards the alleged victims. This is further evidence our society is truly messed up.

I don't know how those kids sleep at night, knowing they're constantly bashing an alleged victim of sex abuse. They should be ashamed of themselves for their actions, and I can only hope they receive some type of therapy to fix whatever problems they may have.

This never should have happened, and it's very unfortunate anyone would want to bring more hurt towards an alleged victim.
