WWE Survivor Series 2011: Is The Rock Back in WWE Until WrestleMania?

After the performance he gave last night, the WWE should let The Rock go back to making movies for a while.

Not only was The Rock’s appearance in the match with John Cena one of the most disappointing in recent WWE history, the segments that he has been cutting have been far less funny than they used to be.

Maybe it’s because the fans have grown up or they realize that his edge is gone.

Despite the enormous pop The Rock received, the novelty and nostalgia will wear off over time if he shows up too often.

That looks like what is going to happen.

Wrestlenewz.com is reporting about The Rock’s possible status moving forward:

The Rock revealed on Twitter this weekend that he has completed filming of the GI Joe sequel. Rock also told a fan that he has some incredible WWE memories but his greatest moment in wrestling has yet to come.

"

With the news that he has finished filming on his current movie, there is no reason to think that The Rock won’t be appearing on Raw more often now. Whether it is via satellite or live in person, expect to see plenty of Dwayne Johnson over the next six months.

This window of opportunity before he starts filming on his next round of projects for 2013 is just big enough for him to steal the spotlight from the current WWE stars like CM Punk and John Cena.

Since the WWE has such a blind loyalty to this goober, he will be able to come and go as he pleases. As if the storylines weren’t terrible enough, they can be at the mercy of The Rock and his schedule.

For this to work, the company needs to limit The Rock’s appearances and schedule them ahead of time so they can build around them. Not be held hostage by them.
