NASCAR Video: Watch Crowd Boo First Lady Michelle Obama
NASCAR isn’t known for its liberal fans. There may be no more right wing sport in all of the United States.
That’s why it should have come as no surprise to anyone who decided to think Sunday that the first lady of the United States Michelle Obama and vice president Joe Biden’s wife Jill would be booed.
The closest thing to a liberal you will get at a NASCAR event is a Jeff Gordon fan, and even they were booing the president’s wife.
Don’t get me wrong, I understand that she was there as a good-will ambassador. I think that she should have been there no matter what the reaction was.
With that said, the fans have every right to let the first lady know how they feel.
With the United States down right now, the middle Americans who watch NASCAR are not going to be your typical democrats. If they follow politics at all, I’m sure the majority of the fans are republicans.
Many of those people blame President Obama for the problems the country is facing, and the people who make the decisions in the first lady’s camp should reconsider making an appearance at a NASCAR event held in Florida.
The only thing I enjoyed more than Mrs. Obama’s reaction from the crowd was the outrage it caused.
My answer to the accusations of racism or sexism is very simple: if it were Hillary Clinton or Barrack Obama on the track, the boos would have been just as loud.
If not louder.
The point of the story kids is that it’s not a good idea to go to a NASCAR race if you want to make a political statement. Even if you are not there for political reasons and are doing charity work, maybe you need to rethink.
