Greg Jennings Injury: High-Powered Packers Offense Just Fine Without Jennings
Losing WR Greg Jennings would not be a huge deal for the Green Bay Packers.
The Packers pushed their record to an incredibly impressive 10-0 with a win against the Buccaneers on Sunday, and did so without the help of their star receiver. He finished with two catches for a poultry six yards.
He left the game in the second half with a bruised shin, but head coach Mike McCarthy sounded confident the injury wasn’t too serious:

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
His status for Week 12 is up in the air, and it doesn’t help that they have a quick turnaround on the Holiday weekend. They have to be prepared for a Thursday game that has an early start time against division rival Detroit on the road.
The Packers are likely to proceed with extreme caution and that’s just fine.
Green Bay can win without Jennings. There is no question he is the No. 1 option for QB Aaron Rodgers, but he has enough weapons at his disposal to make up for the loss.
Jordy Nelson (633 yards seven TDs) is currently on pace for a Pro Bowl appearance. TE Jermichael Finley (445 yards five TDs) is becoming a force in the passing game once again and you can’t forget about James Jones, Randall Cobb or Donald Driver, either.
The depth at receiver for the Packers is incredible. I’d argue they are deeper at receiver than any one team is at a position in the entire league. It’s a complete next man up mentality and it has proven to be incredibly successful.
If Jennings does indeed miss Thursday’s big game, expect Cobb to get a larger role in the offense. The rookie hasn’t had a ton of balls thrown his way thus far in his brief NFL career. Driver will be the other receiver to receive more targets.
Both men are up to the challenge.
So when you think about the prospects of Detroit beating Green Bay, don’t factor in the Jennings injury.
Think about that suspect pass defense or running back James Starks' injury.
